Called Nationwide Mortgage update line today. The guy on the phone told me the following: He said at the moment all referred mortgage applications are going through 2 stages. The first stage is vetting, making sure all documentation is present and correct etc. The second stage is the final decision with the underwriter. He said I have passed the first stage, and the second stage is due to be completed on 30/10/2020, so a week on Friday. He said that usually they wait to book a valuation until the final decision with the underwriter, but because I am "subject to accept", this may be able to done earlier, and he has sent an email to the valuation team to see if this can be booked in. Can anyone explain what he meant by "subject to accept"????? I asked him to repeat it three times and he definitley said "subject to accept", and he said that it means as long as my documentation is correct then I will be accepted?!?! But then he kept saying "final decision" so I am a bit confused to be fair.0
