  • So, we finally got an answer today. Rejection, unfortunately. Trying to get a substantial response on why but thinking of just taking a step back from it all from the moment. It's just too hard. Good luck to ever - hopefully you hear positive things soon!

    Aw no, I’m so sorry!
It seems to be happening to so many people. Nationwide seem to be incredibly picky. I’m expecting a decline for ours to be honest.
It just seems so awful that it took so long and that was the answer they gave you!
I hope the reason isn’t anything too bad and that you get a mortgage with another lender, please don’t give up hope. There’s a lender for everyone.

Thank you, our broker said he couldn't see any particular reason, but thinks my self-employment and the fact that it was quite an expensive house for a FTB mortgage could have played a part (255,000 agreed price which doesn't seem crazy to me but 🤷‍♂️), also that they are just in a position where they can be really, really picky.

Another house bites the dust for us due to a down valuation and the seller not wanting to renegotiate.
    Fuming.
