So so so angry with Nationwide.... seriously will never be recommending them again. How can they take so long to review two documents?! Just been advised we now have to wait another 10 working days to hear if they will do anything. That takes us to 49 working days.... I could have applied with any other bank and had a result before then. We won't ever be using Nationwide again after this.
same, our broker put the wrong purchase price on our application form and only submitted the correction yesterday (working day 25) after I requested it from him last Thursday on working day 21 after I myself went direct to nationwide to see what was going on.
Now been told by our estate agent the sellers want to buy a new build and have been given a 28 day completion period... one of us is going to lose out on something because my solicitors aren't convinced they can do their checks that quick and doubt I'll even have a valuation in the next 28 days...
Oh god what an absolute nightmare!

Fingers crossed it will all work out for you!

So they finally got my valuation booked in for today. I've not heard anything yet. Those of you who have had them already - did you get an email or text when the valuation was completed?

Wow I see I am not the only one having issues with Nationwide.  Mortgage appointment on 25/09, referred to underwriter as the new mortgage is going in my name only (due to partner having poorly managed current account denying a new joint mortgage - which I wish I'd known about prior!) the deposit is from equity on a mortgage in both our names, not sure how that is going to work but hence the referral.  Can see a hard search was completed on 05/10 after reading advice from this thread, what are my chances and likely timescale?  My credit is excellent and mortgage is more than affordable, it's the equity of the joint mortgage I worry about...

We got a text and email, but didn't come till the next day
  • Been following this thread but thought I'd join and share my timeline now I've got an offer:

85% LTV, referred due to self employment. Submitted via a broker.
    Application Received - 2/09
    Valuation Booked for 16/09 - 3/09
    Hard Search - 11/09
    Valuation Received - 16/09
    Mortgage Offer - 8/10

Didn't hear anything from them apart from their automated messages during the application process.
  • Current milestones:
    • Offer accepted 17th August
    • Mortgage meeting with broker 20th August
    • Confirmation from Nationwide application received 1st September
    • Hard credit check 10th September (notification via credit score)
    • Called Nationwide and told initial underwriters assessment carried out but need bank statements and a material change document as the broker put the wrong purchase price on the application 30th September
    • Broker submitted requested forms 30th September
    • Nationwide said material change form not received 5th October
    • Nationwide said form received from broker 7th October
    • Nationwide said form is not good enough to provide as a change to property price and broker has to call them, but not tonight because their system is down. Asked what kind of timeline we should expect and they said well it'll go back to underwriters on the 15th October when the valuation might be booked but could also not be booked until 2nd November
    • Called broker after a cry and he said that if he sees a mortgage offer that is suitable for us he'll apply for us as it'll probably be quicker than Nationwide.
Summary, if you're looking at this forum interested in applying with Nationwide, do so with caution.
We have had full time employment for 7 years with the same company, no debt on credit cards/overdrafts since April (so not on any bank statements), weren't furloughed, no change of circumstance etc. but we were deemed 'unsuccessful' because the property purchase price was incorrect so have to be reviewed by underwriters again.
First time buyer (FTB) - 90% Loan to value (LTV)
    Nationwide Application
01/09 - confirmation of application being received
11/09 - Alert from Clear Score of hard check being carried out
25/09 - Spoke with Nationwide via 'web chat' box on their website and they confirmed our documents hadn't been reviewed yet
27/10 - request for payslips (even though they were provided to our broker at the beginning of the application)
31/10 - Mortgage appointment with Barclays to explore Springboard mortgage options

You should get a text once the valuation has been completed and nationwide recieve the report. Some have also said they got a text when the valuation was approved. I didnt i had to chase it up. But check the timescales, if it falls outside then get on the phone to see whats happening.
