Op I agree with matelodave it is a lot to take in. But if Gerry1 says its a good deal go for it! 12m Summer Saver tariffGerry1 said:
Possibly, but it's a stunningly good deal and it won't be around in a couple of days let alone a couple of weeks. After all, the OP is trying to save their parents some money ! They will have a couple of weeks to think it over, it doesn't commit them to anything at this stage. They can always cancel if they get cold feet.matelodave said:TBH another couple of days ao even weeks aint gonna make a lot of difference - get it sorted out first rather than getting another supplier into the mix and then having to try and pick the bones out of final bills as well
Just remember your parents its not an all you can eat deal for their DD.
At least you will know parents are now on a competitive deal. And you can change your mind in the 2 weeks if anyone else comes up with better? And also once your parents problems are rectified. These guys are pretty quick to get solutions.
If immersion has been on all the time. Then electric usage will be lower when central heating is on and heating HW.
Electric usage will get higher when the gas central heating is off. Fluctuating electric usage/reading/bills.
As suggested turn off immersion ASAP and advise parents not to turn on again. It should only be used in an emergency when there is a problem with gas boiler and no hot water is available.

The numbers that came up were in order when i went to the electric meter. I have posted a copy of the recent bill for the electric. Is everything in order?

I dont think that 13.5p/kwh and 24.5p/day is a stunningly good deal - it would cost me over £108 per year more. It miight be better than SP but nowhere near as cheap as some othersGerry1 said:matelodave said:TBH another couple of days ao even weeks aint gonna make a lot of difference - get it sorted out first rather than getting another supplier into the mix and then having to try and pick the bones out of final bills as wellPossibly, but it's a stunningly good deal and it won't be around in a couple of days let alone a couple of weeks. Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
@Hasbeen and all others that posted about immersion. I have sought clarification and i was wrong. The immersion is not on and is never used. Only used if the heating plays up or in emergencies but has not been used for the last years and 100% since british gas put in the new boiler0

On a separate note - which we will i am sure get to later, how on earth is my parents credit only £170 pound when they been paying through the roof for the DD. I calculate at least 1k and this is without factoring in the high charges they got throughout the year for which i believe were in correct.0

As previously stated, it's likely to bring the OP's parents' gas bill to below £700. I have very similar gas consumption, and I'll be paying 2.027p per kWh and 28.497p per day.I'm staying with Neon Reef for electricity.1

From the bill you have posted - it covers 2 months at a consumption of about 400 units a month. This is high (I would have expected about 300 a month) - perhaps just a lot of lighting left on.
Apart from the June reading which was estimated the readings are in line with the 1st figure your quoted.
see if you can find one that includes the Feb ? that was so high.
No idea what the adjustment refers to .
Unit rate is not extortionate - it's the consumption.
