PS I forget to say do the same sums with the tariff your parents are on at the moment.
That will give you the saving, again with the caveat that the usage may change.

HI Folks - Quick update. The bills have arrived on paper format and i shall be posting them on here in the next few days.

One quick question regarding my switch. The switch is complete - was done on the 17th of August. however SP have billed my parents with their Direct Debit as per usual. This was taken on the 8th of August. Similar Avron have taken a Direct debit of £165 on the 12th August.

Is this normal? Making two payments in the same month?

Two payments is normal - it takes time to cancel DD's and the smaller companies take the first DD very early.

    Thanks.

Avro a nightmare to get hold off. I keep calling and they keep saying no-one is available to speak too. I am trying to get the credit from SP refunded and SP have said AVRO need to tell SP the final meter reading. I told SP i already gave them the final meter reading they said it has to come from AVRO.

    Is this true?

You don't give the final reading to SP; you give them to AVRO - has AVRO asked you for the readings ?
There's an organisation in the middle that checks the readings and gives them to SP.
Be patient  - you will get that credit  (I think the turn around is 6 weeks)

Have you gone with dual fuel rather than the recommendation that separate fuels are generally cheaper.

EDIT - you might like to read  of someone else who is having AVRO issues.

Thanks - Yes i saw the thread but it seems the problem is to do with not giving readings rather then an issue with AVRO. However, i hope things work out with AVRO, am a bit nervous.

Went with dual fuel as it worked out cheaper then going separate. There were a few companies that were cheaper in seperate but the forum advised me not to go with those companies.
