Elderly Parents getting Ripped Off

I went back to your first post to see if anything not already mentioned lept out, dont see anything obvious.Just reading between the lines here, are your parents living in a fairly old, huge house?.If so then the insulation of the house might not be great, that wont be helping the energy consumption at all.Electricity usage of 8622 units and Gas usage of 28390 units appear to show relatively high electricity use and relatively low gas usage, are these figures from 12 months bills?.

Yes last 12 months according to SP. But i will get the last 5 years bills from SP and post them on here in the next 2-3 days when i get them. We can work out what is what from there. Yes fairly large house, 3 bedroom detached converted to 4 bedrooms 15 years ago0

If you're concerned about customer service ratings, you should be considering So Energy and Igloo.
- Igloo are No.1 in the CA ratings and their dual fuel is only about £23 more than the dreaded OTFM. Not an exact comparison because Igloo is variable and OTFM is fixed but with a £30 exit fee per fuel; however, no exit fees might be attractive if the metering problem is resolved and you want to leave early because the annual kWh figures have been revised.
- So Energy are No.5 in the CA ratings and their exit fee is only £5.

Yes igloo came up in my search as one of the top ones. I am also considering them as their reviews are good. My only concern with them is they do not seem a big company. Their reviews are based on a small sample. SO energy i am happy with and will either go with them Single if i can find a single electricity.0

AVRO seem to come up ahead in every review - huge sample, no dissatisfied customers, seems to good to be true. Anyone had experience with them?0

AVRO were fine, but now they are dual fuel only.0

Your parents have been with big companies and been fleeced accordingly. Perhaps it's time for a different approach?xlnc99 said:Yes igloo came up in my search as one of the top ones. I am also considering them as their reviews are good. My only concern with them is they do not seem a big company.2 -
You do know when you go single fuel you can use two different companies right.0

I'm with Avro. All OK for me, although another thread complains that they are currently being non responsive - probably the case for many suppliers at the moment.xlnc99 said:AVRO seem to come up ahead in every review - huge sample, no dissatisfied customers, seems to good to be true. Thanks everyone - I have spent the last 24 hours doing alot of research and comparing prices left right and centre, both single and duel. The best value for money in terms of price and reviews (customer service) comes at AVRO. Fixed TARIFF for 12 months - SIMPLE SUPERGLOW.
Based on the readings for the last year the parents will be saving £750 per year. Estimated DD monthly cost £165.
Happy with the choice although from my findings it seems the best company to go for was OCTOPOS ENERGY. They have a huge customer base and 5 star reviews on every single site you can see. Google, Trust Pilot, Energy Sites - Literally the best customer service you will ever see. Its almost unbelievable to be honest. However, they were slightly more expensive, around £200 more a year at £185 per month based on estimates and i could not justify that.
So happy with the choice made, switch is now complete.
I have some additional questions and points which i will ask on another post0
