Spoke to solicitor today who still hasn't received my offer with the correct details on it.
It turns out the offer was sent to the wrong branch. It needs to be sent to her exact branch as the different branches have different bank accounts and its against regulations to have the money going into one bank account and all paperwork being sent to another. 9 working days and counting....0 -
Got an email through from my broker to say my mortgage offer has been issued today! Such a relief. However they had the purchase price wrong which may take a few days to be amended and sent to me. Heres hoping it's not more than that!1

Working day 40 of waiting for my buyer to get mortgage offer!! Disgraceful service levels and chance of losing our new home if we don't complete ASAP... She's a ftb too with hefty deposit.... Words fail me0

Working day 10 of waiting for platform to put correct solicitor address on Mortgage offer and post/fax/email it to solicitor.

So. To recap (again)
- 6 and 7 August - completed application with broker who submitted late on 7th.
- 10 August - 1st working day (Monday)
- 8 September - called broker to ask how long they were expecting applications to take. They had been told it was taking 23 working days for them to look at applications.
- 10 September - couple of queries re bank statements and asked for proof of deposit (in another bank account hence the Q) (23rd working day, so bob on what the broker had been told)
- 23 September - ran Broker who advised that he expected me to next hear from Platform on the 23rd working day from 10 September. A couple of other forum members advised that they had been told that once further docs were requested that they would hear (or had heard) in approx three working days.
- 14 October - 24th working day from 10 September. Broker contacted Platform and were told that they were now escalating and I would hear within five working days.
- 22 October - 6 working days later, Broker heard from Platform who are inexplicably now asking what the sale price of my current property is!!!! I've told them, but they are saying it will be another five working days.
Today, 6 working days later, they are now wanting a gift form completing as I was gifted some money back in April which had absolutely nothing to do with buying a house. In fact that was a few months before we even thought of it. It is also something they first queried on 10 September!!!!!I’m absolutely livid. They’re an absolute joke.Working day 57 and counting...2025 52 Week Saving Challenge #15 18/52

So I spent most of last night reading through this post and am somewhat comforted to know I'm not alone.
My timeline so far is
7/9 - Application accepted
9/9 - Documentation sent across
20/9 - Valuation completed
12/10 - Queries from Platform
14/10 - broker finally sent across answers to queries
16/10 - escalated with Platform and should have an answer relating to queries in 5 working days
I'm so grateful I read this thread to contact Platform myself as my MA didn't advise the valuation had been done and also didn't advise it could be escalated, rather than waiting 23working days for an answer to queries.
I'm a FTB and my offer is currently holding everything up
Getting very impatient as starting to feel the pressure from the vender to complete! This is what is holding everything up now.
Working day 43 as of yesterday and no sign of light at the end of the tunnel. Feeling very nervous as a FTB right now, and there doesn't seem to be any legitimate reason for such a delay, all lenders are busy but Platform are well and truly taking this to the extreme0 -

our application was made on 5/8/20.Assessed yesterday (3/9/20). Query made re my employer address (council so lots of different offices), and valuation instructed. MA advises that if valuation is instructed, we are pretty much home and dry 😀. She will check next week for a date of when it will be done.Just starting to feel hopeful now!
7/9/20- MA was advised by Platform that valuation & survey would be completed that day, and if all fine, the offer would be issued the next week.10/9/20- I received survey report, with house valued at purchase price.11/9/20- MA confirmed Platform had uploaded the valuation figures and again waiting ‘to be assessed’.14/9/20- MA spoke to Platform who said would be looked at by close of business the next day & had been allocated to an underwriter as a task. If acceptable, should go straight to offer.16/9/20- MA has escalated case to Platform as still no response. Should be looked at within 48hrs (fed up of hearing this now!). Platform were ‘very apologetic’. MA will update again on Fri 18th.Getting so frustrated now, walking around with a permanent stress headache and starting to wonder if it is all worth it.🙁22nd (today) am- case still waiting for assessment then final checks.22nd (today) pm- received email with an offer!!So 33 working days from application to offer. To the amusement of all my colleagues, I couldn’t resist a happy dance around the office! 😀😀😀😀
waiting for the offer from Platform was painfully slow and frustrating, but once that was over the rest of the process has been quick and easy.Other than the government calling another lockdown, just as I am now planning to actually move. Just hoping that this doesn’t cause any issues now- my stress levels are now hitting the roof! 🥺
Good luck to those of you still waiting for Platform anyway. I hope they are getting their act together and you get your offers more quickly than previously. I am off to peruse the Mortgage Free Wannabee forum now!!1 -
Just heard that ours went to offer on 30th October - bang on their 30 day average offer service levels.
- applied 18th sep
- sent docs 24th sep
- one query came back 20th Oct regarding evidence of everyday expenditure
- homebuyers report and valuation 27th Oct
- offer faxed to our solicitor 30th Oct
we always expected it to take a whole so have been pretty pleased with Platform. No issues with being on maternity leave and they have been very helpful and friendly on the phone too.
