We phoned platform again this morning, 2 hours waiting before someone answered phone, told us they were going to fax the offer to our solicitors today (originally said this Friday), we were over the moon, we finally got somewhere, maybe we could exchange this week!
But what happened next was totally unexpected.
Got phone call from platform this afternoon, they said our solicitor is not on their panel anymore, so they couldn't fax the offer to them. We couldn't believe our ears, they had always been on their panel. Phoned solicitor and been told they didn't re register with platform recently (we phoned them months ago to tell them to update their details with planform to stay on their panel). Unbelievable! We feel like crying. Five month's stressful waiting, thought we were seeing light at the end of tunnel, and now this, pulling our hair out now.
What position does this leave you in? Do you now need to look at using another solicitors or can they update their details now to go on the panel?
Phoned platform again this morning, but sounded like call centre, couldn't tell us anything, just said someone will call us back, god knows how long this will take.
Platform are a bloody disgrace!
No, Solicitor hasn't got it yet, its not due to arrive until early next week according to Estate Agent who's been talking to solicitor.

I'm beginning to wish we had gone with Natwest. We're not in a major rush as we're not in a chain but we were initially told we're hear a month after application which is this week. Upon chasing, we've now been told it'll be next week. i don't even know if I can believe this to be true. If next week they come back with queries, will we then be pushed back to the bottom of the queue or can we insist that they address the responses within 6 working days?

Just joining in with the moaning- 7th working day since their last query was answered. MA advised on Monday they are still waiting to assess and he expected an update in a few days (at most)... but still nothing. So frustrating, especially knowing next time i hear could just be for more queries and more waiting. Unfortunately I don't have time to be waiting on the phone for 2+ hours to chase and I'm not sure if my MA is phoning or not, even though i have asked him to. So glad I'm not in a chain or it would be even more of a nightmare. Wishing i went with HSBC!1

So your solicitor has to spend a couple of hours on the phone to Platform who then have to re issue the Mortgage with the correct solicitor details on the pack. This has delayed my exchange and completion date by at least two weeks, totally unnecessarily.
My application went to offer on 7th October (After submitting the application on 24th July!) I got a digital copy on 13th October, and the paper copy in the post on 14th October. My Solicitor was away last week and was back 19th October, only to discover no Mortgage pack had been sent to her, but it had instead been sent to their head office.
I would also recommend to anyone reading these forums to avoid Platform like the Plague, unless you have plenty of time on your hands, and plenty of patience.
I understand the world is different right now and organisations are operating at limited capacity, but to still be waiting for the Mortgage to be sorted heading into the last week of October is a bit of a joke! My original ETA was 3-4 weeks!
I was pretty resigned and laid back about it (dare I say patient???) but two and a half months in I'm feeling much less patient and laid back, and pretty angry tbh. I don't think I've ever experienced such poor customer service!
I also feel they shouldn't be allowed to put 30 days as their average offer time/application time on their website, but should be forced to provide the realities of how long people should be waiting.2025 52 Week Saving Challenge #15 18/52

So I spent most of last night reading through this post and am somewhat comforted to know I'm not alone.
My timeline so far is
7/9 - Application accepted
9/9 - Documentation sent across
20/9 - Valuation completed
12/10 - Queries from Platform
14/10 - broker finally sent across answers to queries
16/10 - escalated with Platform and should have an answer relating to queries in 5 working days
I'm so grateful I read this thread to contact Platform myself as my MA didn't advise the valuation had been done and also didn't advise it could be escalated, rather than waiting 23working days for an answer to queries.
I'm a FTB and my offer is currently holding everything up
Getting very impatient as starting to feel the pressure from the vender to complete! This is what is holding everything up now.0 -

Update from queries- MA said most of my documents seem to be marked as assessed but they haven't provided an update on where my application is at. He says he's contacted a manager to look into it and asked whats required for my application to go to offer. Anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it's maybe just the valuation they're waiting on? Will be on week 7 on Monday:/0
