    Hi!
So I spent most of last night reading through this post and am somewhat comforted to know I'm not alone.
    My timeline so far is
    7/9 - Application accepted
    9/9 - Documentation sent across
    20/9 - Valuation completed
    12/10 - Queries from Platform
14/10 - broker finally sent across answers to queries
16/10 - escalated with Platform and should have an answer relating to queries in 5 working days

I'm so grateful I read this thread to contact Platform myself as my MA didn't advise the valuation had been done and also didn't advise it could be escalated, rather than waiting 23working days for an answer to queries.
I'm a FTB and my offer is currently holding everything up

  • Hi all, I hope everyone's bearing up with the waiting game! We submitted on the 11th Sept. This morning spoke to Platform to see where we were at - apparently our file was picked up yesterday and had requested confirmation from our MA to confirm a couple of queries so I rang MA who hadn't checked for any updates/queries! Anyone know from their experience, when Platform ask for additional documents/clarification on queries and to complete the Direct Debit Mandate, is this done at 1st assessment or will it be with the underwriters? After submitting further requested documents have they asked for, have they then asked again for any furthers information/clarification?
Umm... no. If I've counted right, then today is 25 working days since you submitted your application? If so, they are likely to have asked for extra info and you'll go back to the bottom of the pile and next hear in another 23/25 working days. That's where I currently am - 25 working days on from having been asked for further info.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, and I really hope you hear much quicker, but that's my experience and that of a few others in this thread. Hang in there!

  • Have been keeping an eye on this forum for the past couple of weeks now.
Here is our timeline so far -
    • 01/09 - DIP & Application submitted to Platform
    • 08/09 - Advised by MA that it will be 23 days before our application is reviewed
    • 24/09 - Chase MA who advise that valuation has been done is satisfactory & that they still are in the process of reviewing the documents and this will be done by the 29th September.
    • 28/09 - MA contacts me to advise that Platform have a previous address query, I reply the same day
    • 01/10 - Chase MA, they advise me that the documents & answer to the further query are to be assessed within 5 business days.
    • 09/10 - Platform come back to MA with a further query regarding child maintenance, MA replies on same day. MA advises me that Platform should have the further info assessed by Friday 16th October.
    • 16/10 - I'm on the phone to Platform now for an update!!
So we're at day 46 today, fingers crossed I'm about to hear some good news about the offer!

Just received my mortgage offer from my MA - We submitted on the 3/9. As FTB's we thought the process was tedious but glad to put this to bed. For those who may be interested, Platform didn't request further documents at all and once they mention it's going through to offer, you'll hear from your MA within 24 hours.
I'd advise calling and asking them to set a chaser on your application which I did.
  • We have just reviewed our mortgage offer too! The relief is amazing.
    We applied 3rd sept too.
We never rang direct to platform, we just emailed our broker every other day to make sure things were progressing.
  • This is encouraging, I'm part of the 03/09 cohort too but my valuation held things up, hopefully I will have news next week.
  • Yay MA phoned me yesterday to say the application is going to offer, at long, long last!

I'm guessing I'll have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks for the paper copy to turn up on my doorstep.

Hi, just wonder if you have got your offer in post yet? Platform approved our offer on 5 Oct. , (we submitted our application first week in May, porting and borrowing small extra), our complaint handler phoned us to say they would fax offer to our solicitor and post paperwork to us in 19 working days. We phone platform on the 16th and were told it should be 19 days, so our offer is scheduled to be posted to us next Friday, don't know which one to believe. Our buyer wants completion to be end of this month,  don't understand why does it take them so long to post out offers.

If that's the case, after asking for additional information, you then go back to the bottom of the pile and next hear in another 23/25 days thats outrageous! If this is so, I will have to pull out of the sale of our house - my buyer is wanting to exchange very very soon with his solicitor ready to get exchanged done. I can possibly delay for a week but after that I don't think I'll be able to.  I will feel awful for our buyer but we can't be homeless! Has anyone found by pushing your MA to escalate after additional information has been submitted, has it helped not going into the pile of 23/25 days and moved it on to get it looked at again in the 5 day some say happens! I'm getting extremely worried now :-(  p.s. friends who have applied with different lenders their timelines have been between 20-25 days from application going in to offer.
  • Hi There, do Platform Mortgages verify your employment status after exchange and before completion?

Can anyone help please ! My other half rang platform for an update. They said we have a few documents outstanding and advised him that the loan amount has changed from £160k to £155k When originally they said he could have up to £170k. He didn’t question it as he is hopeless. So I got in touch with MA to see what’s going on, still
waiting for a response. Does anyone have an idea what’s happened? Or had a similar situation. Thanks In advance
