Platform Mortgage

Hi
Has anyone here had experience putting a Platform mortgage application in recently?
How did you find it? What were the timescales? Are they particularly picky or difficult compared to other lenders.

Their rates seem good but don't get much press on here. Free valuations and low fees aswell.

Cheers

Would be interested to hear others' thoughts on here also. Applied through a broker Weds 8/7/2020, hard credit search same day, no update since. The broker says there's a backlog so just waiting for it to go through underwriters and for valuations to be done.

Do you know if your valuation has been booked and if so when for? The website suggests valuations are ordered on application

No I'm not sure. My MA said something about the mortgage company contacting the vendors to arrange a valuation (I upgraded the free valuation to a homebuyers report for approx £200) but didn't say any dates. I'm going to give it until the end of the week then chase on Monday if I've still not heard anything.

I am currently in the process with platform and awaiting valuation of property. Been told there is a backlog. Also, when you upgraded the free evaluation, how much more did u pay? And also what level of survey did you get? Rics?

So has your application been reviewed and its just the valuation your waiting for? Is it a physical valuation you are waiting for?

Mine has been in for well over a week and have heard nothing not even that the valuation has been instructed.

Valuation has been instructed. All requested paperwork submitted. Just waiting for more information now, how did you go about requesting a paid for survey?

I didn't pay for any additional survey just took the free one they offered for valuation. But as I say have not heard anything back.
How long did it take for you to find out the valuation had been instructed after you put the application in? Have you heard anything else back from them since.

Oh I see. We were in constant contact with our broker. She has kept us in the loop. It was about a week after application went in that we got told its been instructed. As to how long it takes who knows.

I see, those timescales don't bode well. Clearly the service levels on the intermediary website are not correct. Beginning to wish I had gone elsewhere..

    Good luck with yours.

Me too, we had a morgage ready with santander who even after redoing the valuation very quickly, decided it wanted a piece of paperwork from my employer that they were not willing to provide so I had to make a quick decision. Luckily the house we are after is empty and in probate. So no chain on either side
