Our application was put in on 10th Sept.
valuation was completed on 16th Sept
15th Oct additional information requested. 16th additional info submitted.
    not heard anything since.

does anyone have any idea what happens next. At what stage do they check employment etc?
do they do any final checks before completion but after the offer?
Also I wanted to ask, we paid the £999 product fee. If for any reason we don’t get an offer is this refunded?
we also paid the £270 survey and had our survey and valuation done in 6 days. Again if we do not get an offer is this refunded?(I’m asking this because shouldn’t they check to see if they can offer first prior to us paying for a survey)
We were wanting to pay the product fee upfront too but advised by our MA not to because if for any reason we did not get an offer it's non refundable. But don't take my word for it, check it out maybe with your solicitor. Our survey was carried out on day 18, that's working days as Platform work to that timescale. They received the survey the same day. Initially we were advised by our MA and Platform that the survey would be booked in when Platform had assessed the case and were happy with everything else - they said this is so you don't lose your survey fee if the application for some reason is not accepted. The offer would then be subject to survey/valuation. We chose to get the survey done first as we're up against time with our chain, and still are. The time they're taking is ridiculous - we're on day 31 now, that's after escalating our case as they requested additional documents/information on first assessment.
Let us know how you get on - it may well help others. Good luck x
Yeah we were told the survey wouldn’t be completed until after the underwriters assessment etc due to the fee being non refundable but with it being completed after 6 days and our case not being looked in to until well after that If we don’t get an offer for whatever reason I’ll be complaining as to why the survey was completed as it wouldn’t have been needed.
  • How long does it take to re issue mortgages? Mine had incorrect solicitor details on it, so solicitor got in touch to get them changed. That was last Monday, 19th October.
Today my solicitor tells me she hasn’t received the updated copy, only that it “should” be with them “shortly”

    Platform are a disgrace.
  • Applied for mortgage on 23rd September. Was told by MA we would hear something last week. We didn’t. So I rang today myself. On hold for over an hour but once I got through I was basically told oh yes all done, it’s going to offer! I wasn’t expecting that level of ease after all I’ve read here. But as FTB with no chain to worry about I haven’t minded waiting the 6 weeks.

Depends on your definition of "decent timescale". Their current service levels say average time is 30 (working) days, which is six weeks. That's very much NOT the experience which is being shared here, although to be fair I don't think you'd be looking for a forum to post on if you were all sorted in that timescale.
I would say the first query we received at the end of the 23 working days which was standard timescale then (rather than the 30), was a genuine one, but since then it has been particularly nit-picky e.g asking for the sale value of our current property when they have the figures of what we are putting in to the next property (broker agrees this is not relevant to them!). I also think their approach of asking a quick query then taking five working days to even look at it is appalling. It could be dealt with in minutes.
Sorry - I know you wanted a positive answer, but unfortunately you won't get one on here as we're all too angry haha. :)

  • What's the current ETA on Platform answering enquiries?
I'm on working day 8 of waiting for platform to re send mortgage offer to solicitor with correct details on it
  • Finally got a chance to call Platform directly (on hold for under 30 mins surprisingly) and was told today it was submitted for Offer Approval Check that can take up to 48 hours. Anyone had any problems at this stage? Slowly losing my sanity (Applied 08/09)
  • MA has emailed to confirm that our offer has finally been issued, 57 days after the application was submitted.
