  • Update: offer received! Hurray. We first applied on 23rd September and received offer today. It was a long process but fairly painless for us. They really hurried up with things in the last week so hopeful for the rest of you that they're more on the ball now.
  • Ok I am purchasing in Scotland so our legal system is quite different to those buying in England. Not quite sure if Platform really care though and it’s maybe a case of who shouts the loudest gets heard first. Anyway we are in working day 25. Our application hasn’t yet been assessed so am trying to keep very patient !

we had to wait a long time until our application was assessed but then as soon as it was looked at they were very swift. Good luck!

    Hi!
So I spent most of last night reading through this post and am somewhat comforted to know I'm not alone.
    My timeline so far is
    7/9 - Application accepted
    9/9 - Documentation sent across
    20/9 - Valuation completed
    12/10 - Queries from Platform
14/10 - broker finally sent across answers to queries
16/10 - escalated with Platform and should have an answer relating to queries in 5 working days

I'm so grateful I read this thread to contact Platform myself as my MA didn't advise the valuation had been done and also didn't advise it could be escalated, rather than waiting 23working days for an answer to queries.
I'm a FTB and my offer is currently holding everything up

Bit of an update today, called Platform to see if they had looked at the responses to my queries to be informed that they wouldn't be looked at until probably Tues/Weds. I was originally told 5 working days so that had now increased by another 3. (For anyone else, the lady i spoke to did say they were looking at queries sent on the 11th/12th October at the moment if that helps you out)

Getting very impatient as starting to feel the pressure from the vender to complete! This is what is holding everything up now.
Well, shock horror, Platform have asked for even more documents! All relating to my payslips and employment contract (really frustrated that they didn't just ask for these from the get go) we are now on 5 payslips they have had from me.
Working day 43 as of yesterday and no sign of light at the end of the tunnel. Feeling very nervous as a FTB right now, and there doesn't seem to be any legitimate reason for such a delay, all lenders are busy but Platform are well and truly taking this to the extreme
Feeling quite envious of those on here who have had a very smooth experience with Platform - congratulations on your mortgage offers and ease of service!
In all fairness to Platform, my biggest issue appears to be my MA. Not escalating cases, having absolutely zero correct information from them and having to contact Platform myself for escalations/updates. To the point I have put a complaint in to the company as I've just finished week 9 of waiting for my offer and I have another week to wait.
Hoping I have different news this time next week, but currently plodding on waiting (patience has never been one of my virtues!)
  • I am on working day 27. Platform requested some documents last week and my MA has advised today that they take 3 weeks to look at anything uploaded. That’s going to take me to day 37 before my application is even assessed fully.

Call Platform and ask them to escalate it, they can put a "chase " on it and should be looked at within 5 working days 👍🏻
  • I have applied to port my mortgage. 4 weeks went by on the  pre suitability and the mortgage advisor call and then we received the application. 6 weeks have gone by  since the application was submitted and I was advised after calling yesterday  that initial checks started last week but no further update. I am not sure who and how to even escalate to a manager considering there's one number for the Plymouth office and you don't get answers apart from contradictory information re. Timescales which don't match what's on the website. Any advice welcome especially as we can't go through a mortgage advisor if you an existing customer.  The info on excellent customer services on their website is not reflected in the responses I have received from them which is frustrating

    Absolutely fuming with Platform.
since I got the mortgage offer in the first week of October(after a near 12 week wait), there has been nothing but delay and dither.

    7th October : offer

13th October: physical copy received . Solicitor notified via email. Out of office received

19th: solicitor back from holiday. She tells me she hasn’t got her copy of mortgage offer. She requests that I send her my copy to enable her to chase platform to get the address changed. Platform sent her copy to the wrong branch.

26th October: I phone solicitor to ask for update. She hasn’t received her copy. She’ll phone them midweek to chase.

30th October: Solicitor again chases platform

2nd November: I get broker to chase platform, and give broker the correct details.

4th November: I call platform for the first time. I asked them if the offer had been sent to the correct address. They said no. They said I’d need to fill out a change of solicitor form. I call solicitor to tell her this, as soon as I get on the phone to her she tells me she’s received the updated copy of the mortgage. At this point I don’t mention what platform told me as she’s now got the offer and I stupidly just assume that platforms system hasn’t updated.
Solicitor was finally able to discuss exchange and completion dates, which we set for 17th November. Contracts were being sent on 5th Nov.

5th November: Contracts and completion statement sent out

    6th November: Paperwork received

7th November: paperwork sent back via recorded delivery

9th November:  Paperwork received by solicitor

10th November: email from solicitor saying they received a letter from platform saying they need the change of solicitor form completed, and that I cannot complete without platform having it and the correct address on the mortgage. (Which my solicitor and I both thought had been changed as they’d already sent an updated mortgage offer to solicitor!!)
so I've completed the form and sent it to Platform via my broker. She is escalating with platform and has made them aware of the deadline of 17th November.
Solicitor will also call Platform today to tell them to get a move on.

I am fully expecting platform to push back exchange and completion day further. My patience  with platform is now wafer thin.
Everything has been ready to go, bar my mortgage offer, since the end of September.

My my application was sent in around the 24th July. Disgusted it’s taken Platform four months almost, to sort it out!  😡

  • Working day 58 for us, was told we would receive our offer by end of this week, to be then told today the help to buy amount is £50 over the amount we need so we need to change that with help to buy before offer 😡. I seriously could scream. Anyone had a similar Problem and know how long it will take for help to buy to change the amount?

    Hi there,
To those of you already with Platform and are looking to move away from them, do you know how long does it take to obtain a redemption statement from them?
    Thanks in advance!
