    Dear Customer,

We are emailing you about the evaluation of the Green Homes Grant (GHG) Vouchers Scheme. The evaluation is being conducted by independent researchers on behalf of The Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). This research will include surveys and telephone interviews with those who have applied to the GHG Vouchers Scheme.

As you previously opted-in to be contacted for research purposes in connection with the GHG Vouchers Scheme, we wanted to let you know that you may be contacted in the upcoming months by our research partners for this purpose. Please be assured that your participation in any research is voluntary and not linked to the outcome of any application you have made to the GHG Vouchers Scheme.

Yes I did - looking forward to giving my feedback if asked!

After 4 months waiting, hoping, arguing with them on the phone! Doing everything I was told only to be told I need to do something else after calling them, and they never called me back in 5 days like they said they would numerous times...now I try and get an even more detailed quote from my installer, and my installer is not doing anything until they get paid by the government.

So its back to square one after an absolute headache. No idea if I'll be able to find an installer now, and even if I can I have such little hope for my application actually being processed.

    What a dissapointment

Yes it made me chuckle. I’m the last person they should be asking for feedback.

I got that too, will be interesting if they publish the results honestly.

  • I contacted the only registered installer in my area in September and after a survey received a quotation for primary measures : loft insulation and secondary measures: smart heating controls.
I submitted my application and quotations in early October since then I have been asked to supply supplementary  information from the installer on three occasions. At no point was I sent an email advising me of this but I became aware through telephone calls I made to the Green Homes Deal advisors to enquire where my vouchers were!
So three times, a disabled OAP,  has had to contact the installer and ask for new quotations and further information about the proposed works and coatings and then had to forward these to the Green Homes Deal administration.
Why the organization doesn’t contact their registered installers directly  for this information is beyond me.
I have now be escalated my complaint and shared it with my local MP and asked him to bring it to the attention of the minister Anne-Marie Trevelyan.
This scheme is a total farce, and the body chosen to administer it is totally unfit for purpose expecting call centre staff to bear the brunt of complaints whilst the parent organisation offers zero customer care and assistance.
  • To be honest we should have all known better. Why did we all believe that this could actually work when they cant even administer the ECO grants worth 400 million a year, this is 1.5 billion they anticipated to spend in 6 months and now Anne Trevelyan has announced they are wiping out the grant down to a paltry 320 million. For businesses like us we have invested heavily into this, completed ridiculous checks on everything we do by poorly qualified assessors to be all wasted effort and money. For Boris to stand in Parliament and say this fund has failed becuase of the low take up is an insult!

I was just told by my installer today that GHG have changed the rules and now I can't get External wall insulation and internal, only one of the other. I was planning to get EWI on the back and IWI on the front due to the details on the front.

honestly I dont trust these people much, has anyone else heard of this rule change?

You will most likely get your claim sorted now, I complained to my MP, asked to intervene and a week later my voucher was sent. Good luck

Argh, what to do. I put in an application for an ASHP within minutes of the scheme opening on 30 September. Heard almost nothing since. Received the email on Christmas Eve asking for more info, which I passed on to my installer and they replied swiftly to.  I hassled GHG in January, they said they had no more info at this time.

Now my installer has pulled out. So I don't have a voucher and I don't have an installer.  Wondering if it's worth hassling GHG to get a voucher (does that mean funds are committed?) and then going about finding another installer (and extending the voucher), or will that mean I have to do an application again?  It's very unlikely that the works can be completed before April.

You need a valid quote for an application - and your old one, if the firm has pulled out - won't be valid, so I think you have to start again.
Note sure why you're worried about this April though.  The scheme has reduced funding for 2021/22 but still carries on (funding permitting) until end of March next year, not this.
