That's hilarious! You have to laugh at this point or you'll cry. I've given up hope of receiving the voucher and getting the work done now.

Hi. Is there anyone on here that has had external wall insulation fitted as part of this scheme AND the walls that were covered were less than 50% of the entire house's walls?
  • Hi guys,
My grant was approved for a free boilers but the guy said, it does NOT cover Heat Source Pump installation with boiler. NOW he is asking for £300 contribution just to install boiler. He told me that govt is not giving enough money now and I have to contribute some money toward boiler.

Can you guys tell me what is truth about greenhouse grant?

The GHG does not cover boilers, as far as I'm aware, so if you have a boiler grant it's not via GHG - which is what this thread is about.
The GHG grants do include some contribution by you - if you have submitted an application and got a voucher approved your contribution will be on the paperwork - it must, I'd say, be on the original quote you submitted for the scheme.
But, as above, I don't think boilers are in this scheme.
Edited to add:  Your boiler grant is I assume, one of the grants made by the previous (and ongoing) scheme which is described here:  https://www.gov.uk/energy-company-obligation

    Thanks for your reply.
I have submitted my application for Green House Grant for " ‘Hybrid Heat Pump’ " and I have been sent a quote from a company for  £9,991.80. Which I attached with my application.

I dont know pros and cons of
‘Hybrid Heat Pump’ , as I have a combi gas boiler at the moment.

I doubt they will give you a grant for a hybrid heat pump, but I could be wrong or getting my wires crossed. The idea of the Green Home Grant is to replace carbon heating with low carbon heating, so replace a natural gas boiler with say an air source heat pump. A hybrid system incorporates both a gas boiler and something like an Air Source Heat Pump. The idea is the ASHP would manage most of the heating load until outside temperatures dropped to a point where it lost its efficiency and was working really hard and not achieving adequate heat, then the system would switch the load to the gas boiler which can provide higher heat and doesn't worry about weather comp. Whats the heating system you are looking at?
