I got this email few times before they requested for additional information, one of their standard responses I think to prevent people from asking for updates!

I've now gone 5 weeks with no payment from the GHG despite doing everything they asked. They dont answer questions, they dont return calls and they are so far ignoring my written complaints. Not only is it nigh on impossible to get a voucher, but so far seems no chance of getting paid for the work either. Biggest shower of clowns to ever grace the earth. I dont think anyone can be this unintentionally disorganised and the scheme is set to fail while they big boys wait it out and cream it later on. I have invested nearly £100,000 being on the scheme and all its done its ruin my business. When you customers are being told companies are too busy to do your quote. Trust me they are not, they cant be arsed as they know what agro it is and then theres dozens of companies like mine owed fortunes for work done! Utter disgrace.

That is awful. Every aspect of this seems to be done in the worst way imaginable.
I hope you get what you are owed very soon.

Yes - I’ve had this email as well - one of their many standard responses.
  • Just a little update for everyone. I was told this morning by GHG that the scheme is changing the goalposts on a daily basis and that if they require further information they won’t always email or phone to request it. It isn’t until you phone up yourself and ask that they can tell you what they need. The helpline said they themselves cannot even phone the audit or processing team and that they can only see a screen telling them what’s outstanding. Earlier this week they asked for my passport, today it’s my driving licence. Wonder what it will be next week? Makes me think it’s a delaying tactic to be honest.

Update on my Air Source Heat Pump instal. I just received a mail from the GHG customer services confirming that my voucher has been processed and my installer is getting paid.
Here is my full timeline from start to finish.
*Applied at 7am on launch date.
*Had a inspection of my property to check it was suitable for an ASHP 23/10 am.
    *First voucher received 23/10 pm
*New voucher issued 24/11....no idea why I received this, it wasn't requested.
*Work carried out by my installer mid January.
*Submitted my voucher for redemption 23/01
    *Payment confirmation received today.
I have made a lot of calls along the way to hand hold the entire process, it wasn't as simple as leaving it the GHG customer services. I experience what others have said before re the disconnect between GHG custer services and the govt audit department that no one can contact. One thing I found that's worth noting is that when you email GHG customer services they do not have access to your mail history so you cannot ask them to look at historical information unless its been added into the notes on your application in their in house system.
Glad my experience with this is coming to an end, I had a bit of expensive kit sitting in my garden which the installer hadn't been paid for that, after reading the t&c's in depth, I felt I was on the hook for if this didn't work out.

I to have just received an email from GHG stating voucher has been processed and payment has been made to my installer. Hopefully they will start making quicker payments to all the installers when work is completed.

The current VAT threshold is £85,000 if your supplier has a turnover or expected turnover in excess of this he must register and charge VAT on any vatable goods and services. VAT on insulation of homes is 5% not the standard 20%
I think it's a new company but I have no idea about their turnover. I only assume as they've spoken to the Scheme themselves they would know whether they had to be VAT registered or not. It's just frustrating you don't get updated about any errors and you have to call to find those out. My quote was only valid for 60 days so just trying to do whatever it takes to get it approved.
You could try calling the company to ask why no VAT  was  charged on the quote and if they are registered to pay VAT ? Just a thought if this is causing an issue with progressing your application - no point assuming anything at this point, as time is short and the  window of opportunity is closing in fast, you need definitive answers from your installer to progress your claim, otherwise as you are  finding out -  GHG will have you spinning around on the merry go round, till the end of time.
    Good luck.
Spoke to my installer. Not VAT registered so can't charge VAT. He's received other vouchers stating the VAT was 0. I understand the quotes must be right but when my quote at 0 VAT is over £9k and the scheme will only be contributing £5k whether there was or wasn't VAT added would be irrelevant to the amount I would be eligible for.

Like others I wasn't made aware of anything in my application that was missing or incorrect it was left for me to call and chase up. Apparently the system isn't made to notify people of errors/ issues.

Hoping to get it sorted soon as £500 every 2 months on gas means I won't have the funds left for the work if it goes on for months more!
  • Not sure if will do any good or not but I emailed them today with a Subject Access Request. I believe this gives me the right to receive all personal information they hold on my file. I thought this way maybe if I can see the application myself and the notes made I can understand and rectify the hold up. Nearly 5 months since I applied so I'm just exploring any avenue at this point.
