Same here Bengal... Something H.M.Opposition should look into.
  • Hi,
I am finding when I am ringing contractors that are the closest, Which are miles away, they are saying they are not doing the scheme, very frustrating, or I am getting g that they are too busy to come down to quote, and the ones that are miles away are saying its too far to come to quote.....
The government needs to sort this issue out, as people are going to loose out, and that’s not fair.

We've given up with the scheme for flat roof insulation - its just a waste of time and energy - we are going with a trusted local contractor to get the job done even though it means we pay in full.

I need to replace my system gas boiler following a heat exchanger failure.I had a quote for a heat pump air to water which required minimal install costs. The quote was around £12000 .I could buy the heat pump at Plumbnation for £2100 .I would go for this option but may have Leasehold permission issues.
I would love to get away from the Gas Condensing Boiler racket (around £1200 for boiler £800 for install £100 a year to service to keep warranty).
I installed a boiler 30 years ago in my previous property Ideal Standard Mexico (cast iron heat exchanger) "bulletproof" still going strong to my knowledge.
Current Boiler 5 years old which had previous repairs according to last owner.
    Well that's progress

Same here, only quote I had was near the cost of doing it locally.  I know I can trust the local guy (highly recommended by a mate who used to work with him) so if it's not much difference I'd rather give him the money than help someone else fleece us taxpayers.
  • Rang 2 companies about a quote who both said we only deal with Park homes and mobile homes, the next company is too far away.
  • just had an email from a company with prices and there charging £3500 for an energy efficient door how is that not ripping people off .
