I wanted to know if you can apply multiple times? Intending to use one vovcher only though. for example I have received a quotation from one installer and if I apply for grant providing that installer's details. Later if I receive another quotation from another installer for same measure, how can I go with this new installer if I want to with grant? any idea?
I asked question direct and was told I would need to cancel the voucher and re-apply for a new one with the new quote details. They would issue a new voucher subject to availability!!
I have questioned the rationale for this as it would save them money but they have not replied. Will update if they do.
Did they advise you how long the reissue process would take?
  • Hi, the Green Homes Grant language refers to "vouchers" in plural - can anyone confirm whether this means an eligible applicant can receive a max £5k or £10k voucher to cover multiple primary improvements or if the applicant has multiple primary improvements quotes with different installers for each type is improvement then each installation may attract their own £5k or £10k vouchers for each primary improvement?
  • Just applied for this been given 3 half thousand for 1st/secondary measure don’t know how as I only need loft insulation Plus secondary measure the company iOS charging 3 half thousand for a back door and used up full grant on one thing when I was hoping to get help towards windows . What can be done about this it’s daylight robbery !!!

5/10k total, one application needed to cover all work.  All quotes must be in the same application.

What can be done?  You don't use them!  They're on the rob, get another quote or don't use the scheme.

Your share if they are using £3,500 of the grant is £1,750, you can get the door installed yourself for much less than your share, let alone what they claim from the government.

For me I've found this just a waste of time looking for anyone  anywhere to quote to do flat roof insulation.
  • This scheme is completely useless.  I live in Gloucester and when I search for registered installers of loft insulation, I only get one company appear, who are based in Blackpool!  How likely am I to get a Blackpool insulation firm to come all the way down to Gloucester to install loft insulation in a small 2 bedroom terraced house?  A complete waste of time, a joke!  Typical UK government scheme, launched without any thought about the detail.  This f-ing government just don't seem to have any grasp of how to successfully implement a scheme like this.  I think I'll just do it myself.
  • I think this is one big joke & I start to wonder if it was designed like this for a reason.
I think it's all a load of the usual Govt BS.
The Tories never give anything away unless there's an alterior motive.
And I used to vote for them!
I need my head looking at!!

Morning guys, I'm currently sitting here scratching my head! I have a timber frame build house with suspended floors.

I've just been told by a builder that I can have cavity wall insulation for my walls. But I'm sure that's not possible due to the possibility of warping the timber and plasterboard. Am I correct in thinking this? I'm sure you cannot class my walls as being cavity walls. Or am I wrong? He also advised against getting any insulation between the floors due to it being a fire hazard.
