Is there a place to name and shame to people who are taking advantage and charging extortionate rates?
When everyone is struggling because of COVID19, is this what the UK public has come too.

Doesn't matter look at all those dodgy PPE contracts handed right in front of everyone to companies with £100 on their balance sheet. We are an apathetic bunch and we voted this lot in - don't beat your head over this in depair.
  • Anyone can recommend a double glazing (doors and windows) installer who operates in the scheme and can install in North London (N10)?  I've been really struggling to find one and they're either unaccredited for this particular scheme or aren't answering their phones.  Thanks!
  • Oh dear, all looks like a total shambles. No installers within 20 miles of where I live and only two then....Both not answering phone calls and saying to register via email. I'll not hold my breath to hear back from them, what a total waste of time! Curious to know if anyone in the South West has had any luck securing the work to be completed by March deadline.

Work cannot be secured -  until voucher has been issued.

Had high hopes - then just hope - now no hope at all.
just another publicity stunt by the World Beating  - Bojo  and the Circus Clowns.

Got three wall and loft insulation companies from TrustMark in Southampton area - one didn't answer the phone, and two replied and said they are not enrolling on the grant, with one pretty sure they just won't. That's disappointing.

I think I know the answer to this but thought I would check. We have external cavity wall insulation already but we would really like the party wall insulating for soundproofing purposes (but it would obviously keep the house warmer too). We can hear every single sound nextdoor makes and when we've knocked on the wall previously it is clearly hollow. Would the party wall count under the cavity wall insulation category or is it just external walls?

  • I am eligible for a £5000 voucher under this scheme to Insulate A Loft Room (Primary) and also replace 2 wooden single glazed downstairs windows (Secondary). I have since given up on going ahead with my application after spending a lot of time trying to find and then contacting 5 companies who are accredited to carry out the Loft Insulation, one told me they are unable to give me a quote for the work, another said they aren't signed up themselves to the scheme and I discovered the third company was only set up 6 months ago which made me wary that they were just out to make a quick profit from the scheme! I have a quote for the double glazing £1600 which I am going ahead with but will pay for myself. Have given up with this scheme - it has not been thought through at all. Disappointed.
  • Has anybody actually received a voucher yet? I applied on 1 October, that's 12 working days ago. Not heard back yet.

The website states they are not being issued until November. Although you would have thought that some would have been processed by now.
  • I have contacted over 20 companies in the West Midlands for quotes, not one reply.  Either companies are not willing to work under the Grant Scheme or they don't want to work all.   I would love to hear from a company with the reasons why they are not interested in doing this work!   Any companies interested, please answer
