What I can't understand is they have been bottom for years, its no secret, but people still buy them.
The chances are most used ones are diesels which may not suit her driving pattern so should be avoided if not. Petrol models will like a drink, but not an issue if she is a low mileage user and can accept less than 30mpg.
If she wants a capable SUV there are far better ones out there for far less money and they will be very reliable.
If she is glassy eyed because its an Evoque nothing you suggest will change her mind so you may as well let her get one with it.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

My husband spent his £18K inheritance from his mother on a Morgan +4/4 seater, back in 1985..... well, actually 1996 before we got to the top of the waiting list. It's now worth about £25K and has given us 25 years of 'fun' and taken both our children to their weddings. I'm not sure that a Range Rover would have delivered the same - but it's horses for courses I guess.
#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
What's the reasoning for wanting one ?
She could invest it and save it for a rainy day, are you expecting any future plans ?0 -
I believe the saying is "the plural of anecdote is not data".
The point behind What car etc ratings isn't just whether the car breaks down more than others. The scores are weighted according to how much it will cost. LR costs tend to be very high.0 -

I enjoy driving, I like Range Rovers, I like having an extremely comfortable, powerful, capable car, and I can afford it. Any car will depreciate and cost money to maintain - £400 was a lot for a tyre, but it was for a car I love to own and love to be in rather than a purely functional family saloon that I resent for needing some new spark plugs.0 -
£400 for a single tyre?!0
