I was fairly sure this would end in war some weeks ago, hence I made major changes to my portfolio to compensate. There was absolutely no way Putin would walk home with his tail between his legs having gained nothing after all his efforts. His only concerns are personal triumph and appearing to be a strong, powerful leader to the gullible Russian population. Had he walked away with nothing he would appear a complete failure. Invasion was always his intention. The fact that the Russian economy will now likely suffer a setback of several decades is of absolutely no consequence to him, as were the death of millions of Russians to Stalin.

This is going all the way now, I don't mean Nato troops or nuclear, but Ukraine will be a soviet puppet state within weeks or months and western sanctions, ineffective in stopping this, will continue for years.  Hopefully the Germans, Poles and others can find enough gas elsewhere.

Hopefully the Russian people can find enough to eat.
“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.”   Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway

All of the industries which have link to War Machines are rising up significantly, reaching All time High:
A few to mention Lockheed Martin (LMT), General Dynamics (GD), Raytheon Technologies (RTX).
    Oil and Gasses as well.
    Too late to buy now.

    Polymetal 307p?

Being kicked out the FTSE100 will force tracker funds to disinvest.  Potential bounce back play. If you've nerves of steel.

A friend of mine suggested that was a good price when it went down to 300, I bought Metro Bank instead. Fingers crossed  :)
