My salad tonight is brown rice, sliced potatoes (from yesterday), tomato, celery, lettuce, olive oil, a dollop of balsamic based dressing and a boiled duck egg on top because it needs to be used up. I'm STARVING (so I ate a pack of Mini Cheddars while I'm waiting )0

Served with half jacket potato, barbecue marinated chicken thigh and a bit of coleslaw. OH had 2 thighs and cheese on his potato too, I really enjoyed it

Do you use shop bought balsamic dressing or make your own? I love balsamic but the brand I used to buy I can't find anymore and haven't found a decent recipe.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Even though it's been a glorious day here, we're not having salad tonight because we've had salads/barbeques all week. A steak and veg stir-fry was on the menu plan and it's just what I fancy right now for a change.
I'll add this to the main salad recipes thread later as that should give you some inspiration:

Leftover pasta with tomatoes, basil, black olives and feta with a splash of Newman's Own Italian dressing - I make the dressing slightly more MSE by bulking it out with extra olive oil.0

I'm lazy so my favourite salad recipe is my favourite roasted veg - only allowed to cool and served at room temp. or the easiest salad in the world - tinned sweetcorn! just add a little salt pepper sugar and melted butter to cold sweetcorn, mix in and its delish!0
