  • Hi all. Being following this thread so thought I would share our process.

IFA lodged full application on the 25th Sep and hard search done same day.

2nd October - IFA advised application and documents have been accepted and sent to underwriters

Today (7th October) mortgage val carried out.

So now just waiting on underwriters but assuming this will be several weeks before we hear anything, so for now, fingers and toes are crossed.

In case it helps, my current timeliness as follows. I am a simple case, 85% LTV, no funnies at all:
6 Aug - application submitted for house 1
    17 Aug - mortgage offered
10 Sep - purchase on house 1 falls through
21 Sep - new house found and offer accepted!
24 Sep - amendments to property address, loan amount and solicitor passed to underwriter
1 October - agreed subject to valuation
    6 October - valuation

... Now just nervously waiting to hear whether the valuation was satisfactory for the offer to be reissued!

Fingers crossed it happens quickly - waiting is always the worst!
  • 10th Sep AIP
10th Submitted full application and all documents
11th requested details of my furlough and if been effected (they already had this)
12th requested salary details (they already had this)
14th desktop valuation done (only found that out today, 7th Oct - no feedback, you can imagine my annoyance with the mortgage broker for not checking this)
21st requested a letter to say I wouldn’t be made redundant in the foreseeable future (a strange request)
22nd was told not possible for this document as employer only gives generic references
1st October requested a letter to say I wasn’t working a notice period of redundancy & was told if I can’t get this document the mortgage wouldn’t be approved.
    6th October submitted the above
7th informed I should hear at the end of next week as in underwriters queue

Currently, working day 19 with a long wait ahead.

And now they have asked why me and my partner both commute so long for work. My head office is in Leeds and his in Manchester. and we both working in Birmingham, all information given on initial application. It's infuriating. Someone is incompetent somewhere down the line.

Anyone else spotted that Santander have speeded up the underwriting process🤔 this morning the were working on applications received on the 11th, now they are on the 14th! Hopefully not too much longer till they look at my application which was sent to them on the 18th!! 🤞

Although, 12th/13th September was a Saturday and Sunday so maybe there weren't many passed to them over the weekend! Still, that's the quickest they've moved on in weeks...

I'm still working out why I need another phone consultation 😂 I can't think what else they need to know. Good that the underwriters are catching up though!
