10th Submitted full application and all documents
11th requested details of my furlough and if been effected (they already had this)
12th requested salary details (they already had this)
14th desktop valuation done (only found that out today, 7th Oct - no feedback, you can imagine my annoyance with the mortgage broker for not checking this)
21st requested a letter to say I wouldn’t be made redundant in the foreseeable future (a strange request)
22nd was told not possible for this document as employer only gives generic references
1st October requested a letter to say I wasn’t working a notice period of redundancy & was told if I can’t get this document the mortgage wouldn’t be approved.
    6th October submitted the above
7th informed I should hear at the end of next week as in underwriters queue

    update...
8th they asked us why my partner commutes to Manchester for work - he doesn't it's just where his head office is
today - montage offer issues . working day 21.

Very happy. It's been very frustrating. Fingers crossed everyone else hears soon.
Did you get the actual written offer today? Or just the notification from your broker that it’s approved? Congratulations - it’s very good to see some names I have seen and commented with regularly starting to get results 😁

Hooray! (assuming that should read "Mortgage offer issued"
I'd love to know why this obsession with commutes, though...
  • Hi tottiew - yes is should say issued. sorry for the typo.
@newhomechris I got a text from Santander to say it's been issued and then mortgage advisor forwarded me an email to say that the offered has been issued and a paper copy of offer has been sent to us in the post.

Mine is in the queue for offer documents to be issued but had an email confirming everything is passed. Now just got to wait for the HTB Authority to Exchange and I’m moving in the next two or three weeks 🎉🥳

Unsure if being an existing customer helped. Here is what happened with ours :
28th July - Got AIP (online/phone part of Santander) for additional borrowing ( didnt like using the online/phone advisor as it was very scripted)
28th August - Found a house, offer accepted
1st Sept - Spoke to branch advisor instead of using the online advisors - Needed to rebook to allow for more time
3rd Sept - Rebooked into this day , Submitted some documents like bank statement and wage slip and another AIP was given ( Hard credit search done)
12th Sept - Full mortgage app via phone , We then went to the branch to sign documents ( Could have done the full app in branch)
    17th Sept - Valuation Done
18th Sept - Mortgage offer sent to us

We received our mortgage offer today 🙂 6 weeks after we applied. Husband is self employed, I am straight forward. One lot of questions last Tuesday, was told to expect to wait until the end of the week at least, but the text came through this afternoon!
Amazing news - congratulations! So you only had one set of questions for the whole thing? What were those if you don't mind me asking. :)
Thanks! They asked for my latest payslip, as it hadn't been issued when the application started, and some questions about husbands self employment - he is a bricklayer, and it was about being CIS registered and stuff, I don't really understand!

    Hello - new here
We have been using a broker, we received our mortgage illustration on weds 7th and gave our broker all of our documents ready to submit for full application, I’m assuming he submitted the application after our appointment last week.

However, just a quick question, we haven’t received a text/email from Santander to confirm they’ve received our application. Did people receive this on the day they actually submitted the application or did you receive it a few days later? (On the service levels page it says they are setting u applications received on the 6th) so I wasn’t sure whether we’d get a confirmation when it has been set up or on the day of submission... we haven’t received anything yet as I said but even then will we definitely receive a confirmation if using a broker? Or will it just go straight to them?

I’ve also checked my credit report and can only see an affordability check (soft search) from Santander, again would the hard search be done when setting up the application or day of submitting?

I guess we could ask our broker but I don’t want to pester him as he is very busy! He said that we would hear from him in a few days if they request more documents, but nothing yet!

We applied 26/08 via a broker. Got a text immediately from Santander confirming the application and had a hard and soft search showing on Experian.
