Hi - I've been lurking in the post and have found it quite useful, so let me return the favour.boxer234 said:My application went in last Monday valuation tomorrow. When do they do the hard search ?
We had a hard search on the day of application (17th Feb), then another on the day that we were accepted subject to a satisfactory valuation (Monday 7th - We also had a soft check on this day as well). It was through Experian.
The whole process was 13 days from application to agreed. We applied through a broker. Some documents were rejected and had to be resent as my wife has a different second name on her pay slips from her bank account.
 Timeline was this:Received 17/02/2022 17:38 Valuation instructed 19/02/2022 08:19 Documentation/Information requested 21/02/2022 10:32 Documentation/Information requested 22/02/2022 15:19 Documentation/information day 3 chasing 24/02/2022 17:35 Documentation/Information requested 24/02/2022 18:14 Valuation appointment 28/02/2022 10:41 Passed to Underwriting 01/03/2022 07:55
Broker forwarded an email from Santander that he had received on 7/3/2022 at 08:28 am:
 "Underwriter decision: agreed
We're pleased to let you know your client's mortgage application has been agreed. A mortgage offer will be sent out shortly, subject to a satisfactory valuation."
 Hope this is useful!1

Our application was submitted on 3/3, hard & 2 soft searches done on 3/3, additional documents requested on 4/3. Weirdly Santander asked about our duties at work - broker said they don’t normally ask that..
Still waiting… can we check application progress online if we applied via broker? Not very good with waiting!0

I don't think you can track unless you're the broker - all their tools are behind a username/password.emm12345 said:Our application was submitted on 3/3, hard & 2 soft searches done on 3/3, additional documents requested on 4/3. Having been driven mad by the NatWest tracker I'm glad of this now that I'm also waiting on news from Santander.
If you've been waiting since the 4th for an update I don't see a harm in asking your broker if they have heard anything or have an idea when you should expect to...
The Santander Intermediaries site does show timescales for things being done:

Offer is here ! Took 2 weeks. The underwriter went through my bank statements with a fine tooth comb and did have some questions mainly regarding vet bills (last month was a nightmare emergency visit well over a grand paid out) insurance did pay most of it back. They also queried the website I get my prescription dog food from (bloody dogs lol financial wreaking balls)0

My broker said they normally don’t TBF mine were in a right state last month they just wanted to check it wasn’t an ongoing financial commitment which is fair enough. Good luck hopefully you won’t be waiting to long.emm12345 said:Oh congrats! We have applied on 10/03 - submitted extra docs last Thursday but still waiting. We're currently still waiting for the offer to get to us. Broker said that Santander was using the wrong postcode which is quite annoying. All been corrected though. Just need someone to actually look at it and get the offer too us. From the website it looks like they are working at around 15 working days from application to offer. We are on twenty now! I know it'll be fine based on the above, but until I get that paper work... 1 which is quite annoying. All been corrected though.
