Pleased to be adding my own experience to the thread.
I am self employed, 90% foreign income, 10% UK BTL income. Accounts done in UK by Chartered Accountants. Tesla on PCP, no other debt, perfect credit.
Purchase price = 467,500
Deposit = 118,000(25%)
Multiples of income = 2.3x
AIP 18th December 2021
Certificate from accountants, tax year overviews etc obtained.
Submitted application = 21/12/2021
Approval = 04/01/2022
No extra questions etc I was expecting some enquiries as I am foreign income but I guess so many people have offshore earnings now with things like YouTube, OF and others the banks are less bothered than they were 10 years ago.
My only tip is to get everything ready before you start. I cleaned up my bank accounts from any spending, kept away from overdrafts, credit card etc I had all my accounts ready. It took a lot of stress out of it having it all at my fingertips. Now all I have to do is evict the current people, they're still hunting grrrr

Hi everyoneHappy New year..!
I have applied through Santander and we got the mortgage offer in post 4th January
Our solicitor didn’t receive the mortgage offer so we contacted the bank and they told us its wrong name and address of solicitor. By mistake we have provided incorrect one. We have provided correct one online and they said it takes 1-2 days to look in to it by bank.Now my question is would they just change the solicitor details and issue a new mortgage offer letter or they would check and process again?
also we were looking to complete 20th January as all our paper works drafts inquiries searches are done.
Thank you and good luck to everyone for your application. Hope you all get positive news soon.0 -

Hope this helps anyone applying for a mortgage through Santander, I was worried after reading this forum but incredibly happy with the process.
22/01- DIP
25/01 Application submitted with documents
26/01 Valuation completed
27/01 Underwriter contacted our broker to confirm whether I’d returned to work after having Covid.
27/01 40 minutes later, mortgage broker rang to say our mortgage had been approved
me and my partner both only supplied a payslip and no bank statements needed. I was so anxious about the process as our vendor is very eager to sell and it’s our dream house, so didn’t want to hold the process up. Couldn’t fault Santander or our Mortgage Advisor 😊1 -

My timeline so far
Joint mortgage me and my partner are 21 years old and we really worked ourselves up thinking we would never be approved because of age being against is in terms of building our credit history.No missed payments a good credit file for both.02.02.2022 offer accepted on dream house
06.02.2022 AIP approved online
07.02.2022 case created direct via phone
09.02.2022 provided requested documents (one months payslips for both)
11.02.2022 asked for more documents (my partners recent statement)
14.02.2022 document provided
14.02.2022 hard credit check on both files
16.02.2022 mortgage advisor appointment
16.02.2022 proof of deposit requested
17.02.2022 proof of deposit provided
20.02.2022 on a Sunday morning got an email to say mortgage has been approved pending valuation and has also been passed to the mortgage centre who will valuate the property and send an offer via post.
It’s been a very hard two weeks sleepless nights anxiety, worrying 24/7. Refreshing emails all the time. Really hope valuation comes back positive and so we can receive the offer soon.
