Waitingformortgage said:So our offer is on the way. Just had a message from Santander to call them ASAP. Gave them a call and they needed joint parties ID. Why would they need ID at this stage? When they’ve already sent our offer. This is worrying me now. We have uploaded the ID now but just makes me think they may keep coming back for more stuff. Had enough of this process!
did you hear anything back from them?
I applied two weeks ago but still no feedback.
Would they ask for further documents if the credit check fails?
Thanks0 -

Application submitted today - fingers crossed. 🤞🤞🤞Our broker said that it takes about 3 weeks but i can see that a lot of people on this thread got their offers much quicker.0

https://www.santanderforintermediaries.co.uk/submit-and-track-business/our-service-levels/It looks to be taking around 10 working days right now0

Just got the offer today.
It took exactly 10 working days as stated on their website.
good luck to everyone still waiting, hope everything goes well!0 -
Thanks, really useful to hear about other experiences. I’ve been checking Experian, Equifax and emails every few hours but it’s not even showing a credit search yet. I feel like it’s going to be long 10 working days for me🤣0

I have just applied to Santander for a mortgage, into retirement as my partner is a bit older (although our hope is that we will come into money through various pensions lump sums which means he won't have to work until he is approximately 103).
I don't have an impeccable credit rating though - I started looking for a mortgage in May last year, and found that I had a PayPal default on my account for just over £1000, registered in March 2018. I paid it immediately, and then did some research. PayPal can't tell me what it was for, but it was registered to a joint bank account I had with my ex (who I currently won a house with) which is unusual as I would not have set up payments to come out of that account. Anyway, I have requested further information from PayPal (who are no use), and tried to focus on moving forward (as my ex keeps threatening to move back in). Also, there was a late payment registered on my mortgage, 39 months ago, again, thanks to my ex boyfriend clearing out our joint account.
We've got a joint income of £82k, looking for a £325,000 house with a 17% deposit. Seems to be comfortably within affordability.
Our broker got us a DIP with Santander, but I'm just worried that my adverse credit will count against me. Has anyone had anything similar. (And no - I don't have total faith in my broker, but time isn't on my side to find a new one as I have spent £3,000 getting my ex to sign an agreement to sell the house and I worry if I delay the chain will fall through (again)).
Many thanks,
I've just recently applied with Santander and was successful! My application took 5 days in total. I had two defaults dated in 2017 and had no questions asked. Good luck to you0 -
My application went in last Monday valuation tomorrow. When do they do the hard search ?0
