Santander mortgage timeline

Same happened to me yesterday, waited for 2 weeks for a decision from the underwriter only to get more queries on the same transactions on the bank statements, my broker said explanation was already provided 3 weeks ago.RJM90 said:I’m seriously losing patience with Santander. I’ve just received four requests from the underwriters on things I already provided and clarified in the beginning stages when documents were checked including why my workplace is 200 miles from home. I’ve sent it all in again but no doubt I’m at the back of the list again. Genuinely have no idea what’s going on when they revisit questions you’ve already provided answers for!1 -
We bought a high-value property. Our mortgage application amount was £475k. I guess they wanted to check again if we had taken any credit elsewhere.peacetrustlove said:
Our application lasted a total of 15 weeks. The second hard check was around 5 week mark. Then there was a soft check about 12 week mark.Purlain said:
Congratulations on the good news! Santander has become a nightmare for all of us. After two weeks waiting, they came back with more questions on my bank account entries and 2nd hard credit check. Does that mean another two weeks wait for more questions? Should I just give up?Emilieeeeee said:Finally some good news today. Mortgage is all going ahead. Just waiting for the offer to come through. My timeline and a bit of info to help anyone still waiting or looking to apply.FTB with HTB - 25% LTVMortgage applied for: 10th May
Valuation: 18th May
Mortgage confirmed: 25th JuneWe have been in this process for nearly 7 weeks and over that time had two separate lots of questions or further documentation required to be sent.We are SE and E.
Now all that’s needed is the mortgage offer to come through. Has anyone ever been rejected at this point? It’s been so long I can’t even muster up the enthusiasm to get excited as I’m so worried it will not happen or not be for the full amount.
Good luck to anyone still waiting to hear.0 -
Good luck to all those completing this week. It's been traumatic for many I know, no thanks to Santander but it will be worth it in the end.1

Hey allAm new here and Just been reading through the thread and see that there seems to be significant delays on mortgage offers atm.
We are a vendor (selling chain free) and the our buyers Santander valuation happened on our place on 8th June and they were told they would know in a week or so, we chased on 16th June to be told they were told another 10 days.Sitting here waiting with baited breath.Anyone with similar timeline, please keep the updates going.Luck to everyone completing this week! Time has never gone so slowly!0 -
My valuation was done on 9 June, since then two lots of questions were asked and documents requested and I am still waiting for a decision. My vendor was also very anxious and has been messaging me for updates every day. It seems your buyer's case progress is in line with the general timeline at the moment.Sarah070807 said:Hey allAm new here and Just been reading through the thread and see that there seems to be significant delays on mortgage offers atm.

Spoke with my broker this morning. All Santander underwriters have now been tasked to work on cases due to complete within Wednesday, i.e. those aiming to beat the SDLT deadline - so have been told not to expect any news until Thursday. Was advised that the valuation (done 14th June) has checked out ok so at least that's something. We're aiming for August completion.3

Why would underwriters still be working on cases due to complete by Weds? Do they get involved again at the end of the process? Apologies for my naivety, this is all very new to mestrike4a said:Spoke with my broker this morning. I don't think they're getting involved again, more getting involved for the first time... Lots of people have done everything else in the process and could be holding up a chain when just waiting on a formal underwriting sign-off. If you applied today to Santander then underwriting wouldn't even look at it until after at least 2 weeks.FinallyFTB2021 said:
