Started 5th oct & got declined 9th Nov.
appealed the decision with new info and have won the appeal.
letter from solicitor worked for escalation, now just waiting for offer to come out.
What was the reason you have declined?0 -
Hi,
does anyone know of a contact email address for escalating cases? My solicitor has agreed to write in and explain our vendors are threatening to pull out, but would rather email than send a letter. Any advice appreciated!0 -
Coopsy85 said:I’ve been lurking here for a few weeks with a growing sense of dread.Porting our current Santander mortgage and borrowing extra, total ltv 69%, I’m employed and hubby SE. Made our application last Wednesday direct to Santander and had a phone call today to say mortgage is approved subject to valuation. Completely shocked and assume that having an existing mortgage with them is the reason we were assessed so quickly?
fingers crossed the valuation goes well, that will be one of a thousand things ticked off before moving.I really hope everyone waiting gets some good news soon.1 -

Hi all I’ve been scalping this thread for a couple of months and just want to share what’s been going on.
applied to Santander on the 16th November.
sent all documents on the 16th October, I’m self employed and my girlfriend is employed without being affected thought covid.
After 5 weeks weeks they asked if we was both affected with covid which my girlfriend wasn’t but I for 3 weeks due to shut down due to building supplies, so I took the first grant.
Everything was excepted and got the mortgage expectance subject to valuation on the 25th November.
we waited 2 weeks for the valuation and chasing the MA for updates and eventually got that it had been done by desk top and was was accepted, as soon as it was done we got the much awaited formal txt and email that all has been agreed and accepted but the day that my MB said they wanted to see 3 months of my business bank statements which I thought was strange after everything was underwritten and accepted.
The day after my MB said it was sent out by technical mistake and to ignore until they check my bank statements even though it’s all been passed. Wow what a body blow. That was on Monday the 14 December. On the Friday morning my MB phoned me to tell me we had been declined due to a payment being cleared which was a credit card which made no sense on the bank statement. He then phoned me later on that Friday to tell me it wasn’t that and that they have misread my business bank statements for earnings even thought they have had my personal bank statements for earnings from the 16th October. The whole process has been a mess and now just waited for and appeal to get things sorted.😡

We're in the mix for a new build and I can just see them remarketing it soon if we don't get a resolution shortly. Apparently Santander are known to pull applications if you attempt elsewhere as well, so it's just and suck it n see scenario0 -
