  • Morning all, sorry to bring the mood down today but we've been told our mortgage has been declined. My wife is SE and was forced to close during the 2nd lockdown which is what they have based the decision on. Has anyone faced this before and know if we have a chance at an appeal? Now she has re opened and is busier than ever and with todays news of a vaccine hopefully that is the end of lockdowns?

Yeah shut for both lockdowns as she is a hairdresser. We showed that after the first lockdown the business was open and consistently performing better than the previous year, plus it looks like the same trend for December and January.

We've asked our MB to appeal for us. Just need to get all the future projections together. of course this would happen on my wife's first day back when she's super busy!

  • First post on here 👋🏻
Just wondered if anyone can answer my question.
When the valuation is done, if they down value the house or if any issues with valuation do they tell you straight away? Or does it wait until application has got to underwriters for us to find out?
Valuation has been done, now in underwriters queue, just wondering if that means the valuation was satisfactory or whether we wouldn’t find out until it got to underwriters.
We are using a MB so amount of info I can get is limited without asking MB loads of questions.
    Thanks :)
