My credit from NR has appeared in my BG account, but who will provide a closing statement so that I can check what readings were used? I checked the NR site before it closed and the last statement was Sept. The credit amount shown on the NR website is what has been credited to my BG account.
If the credit matches then it’ll be the closing reading on your last (sept) bill.
The last NR statement was to 22 Aug and the credit amount on this bill was lower than that applied to my BG account. When I checked the NR site last month it showed a greater credit amount but there was no final statement.

Have people received/downloaded a final bill from NR up to when they ceased trading?

Yep my mine was up to day they stopped supply (and had right meter reading). I was in debit which may a factor as stepdaughters was only up to Nov 1st and she was in credit.

OK, I've commented earlier on in the thread but to make it easier I'll repeat what I said.  I'm a NR casualty.  I was moved on to BGE Standard Tariff back in late Nov, which in the email contract states 'guaranteed til 31st July 2022'.  Presumably, this rate will be valid til then?

I've not actually set up an online account with BG yet as I wasn't sure about staying with them.  (I ought to be careful here though as the lack of meter readings record could work against me - is there an address I can send the meter reads to?)

Obviously, I'm asking with a view as to how to try and get a better deal in months ahead - 'Exclusive fix nov 23' looking unlikely in current circumstances.

Online chat doesn't seem available i.e. they really don't want anyone contacting them.  I can't email them because the email address from which the contract in late Nov 21 was sent says 'no reply'.

Is there anything I can do in this situation or is it a case of simply waiting and hoping for the best? Cheers.

They are saying that they will not be honouring the guaranteed date since it was 'a mistake'! You will need to raise a formal complaint with them. You can add your meter readings online but goodness knows when you might get a bill from them!
If you don't set up a DDR you will pay a higher rate when they put the prices up in April

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but this is such a long thread I didn't read through it all!
I was on Direct Debit at NeonReef, which was supposed to be transferred across to BG but that hasn't happened. I notice on my account details on BG it says "Quarterly Cash/Cheque" on the payment method.
I've been in touch with them today and have set up my direct debit now but when I querried the rates on the (Welcome to BritishGas) tariff (I wanted to be sure they would bill at Direct Debit rates rather than more expensive Quarterly rates) I was told that DD and Quarterly were both the same unit rate and standing charge.
This doesn't seem right to me, there's always a reduction for DD whoever you're with and if I look at "my tariff" it simply shows what it will be from 1st April. I did a bit of digging and, while I couldn't find any details of the current rates for "Welcome..", there most definitely is a difference from 1st April onwards.
Does anybody have figures for the unit and standing charge rates that apply from Dec to 1st April?
    I have been told that:
    • until 1st April the unit rates are 20.317 p per kWh and Standing Charge (Inc. VAT): 23.770 p per Day. Regardless of Direct Debit or Quarterly payment plan.
    • From 1st April Quarterly rate is 29.100 p per kWh and Standing Charge: 50.535p Per Day and Direct Debit rate will be 27.627p per kWh and 44.750p per day (I did also find those figures myself which confirms them).

Just checked my account and they have cancelled the two previous months bills and replaced them with a bill from 3 December 2021 from when they took over my electric supply from Neon Reef.  Everything looks in order.

If I remember correctly, you actually settled your outstanding bill with NR ?
So you had nothing to be transferred forward - I suspect that they are struggling with getting their IT to cope with the credits/debits transferred ,as my account hasn't changed at all since the beginning of Feb.

I paid what I assumed was the final amount of £68.00. However that did not cover the period from 3 December when I think this was when British Gas took over my energy supply.

Will check it through carefully when the PDF statement is ready to view.

Yes. My last (final) bill ended 20/11. It was estimated from readings on 17/11 and 23/11, so should not be very far out.
is the difference in credit accounted for by a direct debit?

The 31/7 is a mistake and your tarriff will be set to rise in April.
if you don’t agree get a formal compliant in (my own opinion is that companies are not bound by errors - but that shouldn’t stop you trying).

the bad news is that you’re not likely to find anything better than the price cap right now and even moving for better service on the price cap might be difficult.

ive mostly been able to get through on chat although I do something else whilst waiting in the queue.
