So I followed Ofgem advice to leave my direct debit set up with Neon Reef.  They have just taken another payment.  Which is not showing in my NR account, last payment is showing as October.

It took a few days to appear on my NR dashboard as well. Payment was taken on the 12th, it appeared after the company collapsed.

What's less clear (and might not be known until spring 2022) is whether the SoLR tariff is fixed for 6 months, or whether it will rise in April with the cap. Ofgem's guide to the SoLR process seems to say it should be fixed but it's only a guide and we don't know exactly what BG or the other SoLRs agreed.
I agree the situation as described by BG is as clear as mud, but I posted previously in this thread how I now view those matters.
I see you are still posting the misleading, or at least outdated, information about what you think Ofgem say about it being fixed, something I have already corrected you about on at least 2 previous occassions because on the 2nd occassion, you claim to have missed the evidence I provided on the first occassion
Your view on these matters is immaterial; Ofgem's guidance has not changed.
To evertyone else, I apologise for dbks and their repeated ad-hominem attacks on me which must be getting tedious.
I apologise for Dave and their repeated ad-hominem attacks on other MSEers which must be getting tedious, especially when they won't listen to reason.

FWIW, the bit of the guidance you seem to be referring to was there to allow Ofgem to agree a contract price above the suppliers normal deemed contract price (to reflect the increased costs of servicing those customers) and so had the provision that the price must revert to the suppliers normal price after 6 months.
All the other parts of the advice and the more recent statements from Ofcom simply refer to the deemed contract being limited by the cap.
So our current working assumption should be that the variable tariffs being used for those with a SoLR can go up when the cap goes up, if the supplier wishes to do so.
We just have to wait and see if they decide to do that or not...

thanks elucidate. The money was taken yesterday... I will hope it appears in my NR account.  I am concerned as this is well after NR collapsed, it couldn't be said that the DD was already in process surely.  So what are they up to?

The ex-NR BG tariff quoted to me is 'Variable', but the contract says it's 'valid until 31/7/22'. How can a variable tariff or SVT have a validity date, unless it's a fix?
The rate I was quoted is exactly the same as BG offer for Standard Variable via DD in my region via their website.

I don’t think valid means the same as fixed.
Maybe it means there will be a replacement.

So, what they are saying is, 'the price will change after 31/7/22. But we reserve the right to change it at any date prior to that'.

My best guess is that the special ex-NR tariff name will cease to be used on that date and everyone still on it will be switched to BG's SVT (which could be the same tariff in all but name).

Do not worry about this, it seems to be common practice in these situations for the defunct supplier to take direct debits after the SOLR has been announced - they are actually still in existence and in administration and the funds will find their way to your account and ultimately be passed on to the SOLR if not needed to settle NR's final bill. However it might take longer than normal for the funds to appear - those of us with Symbio had to wait several weeks for our October direct debits to be credited to our accounts, but they got there in the end. Hopefully it will be a bit quicker in your case but do not panic if it isn't.
