Be REALLY careful about opting to jump to "escape" the SoLR process if you currently have credit - and are going to need that credit to pay bills this winter. You're unlikely to be seeing it back any time soon as you may be at the end of the process with the new SoLR. You *might* be lucky, but it's not a gamble I'd be taking if I knew I was going to be replying on credit currently held by NR to enable me to heat or light my home this year.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

For anyone who wants to try their luck, the British Gas Zero Fixed Oct 22 electricity tariff would be unbeatable IF you can switch to it. You can even pay with Variable Direct Debit which eliminates all the problems associated with excess credit building up and the confusion about 'All You Can Eat'.I managed to escape Symbio's SoLR and I've been told in Chats and emails that my tariff (currently the SVT) will be backdated to the start of service. Chat seems to be the only way to get it and you'll have to be very persistent and keep the transcript (take photos because transcripts don't always materialise), but if you like a challenge it might be worth a go.0

For those who want to escape the SOLR and not be stuck for six weeks tomorrow is probably the last day so I wouldn't wait around.Just took a look at their tariffs and there was nothing cheaper than their standard capped variable rate, which is the same as you would be on with the SoLR, so not sure what the benefit of switching would be?I assume you were looking at the tariff details (standing charge, rate per kWh) not just at the monthly DD estimate?0

@Patr100 Someone seems to be propping Bulb up. Also Ofgem seem to set the bar very low for licence applications, if at all, if recent history is anything to go by.At the moment, I don’t think the SoLR system is fit for purpose.0

Snap! My missing payment from 9th November now showing in Bills & Payments, however, the Statement .pdf file has not been updated. A myriad of screenshots should provide proof if/when needed.

Bill' as the old UP software, which NR uses in a re-branded format, never did.
You will be able to identify it as a final bill as it will not be a complete month, but rather end on the day, or day before, the SoLR starts.
Wise to take a screenshot of the credit now on your online account, though

Did you choose to join the standard British Gas brand or British Gas Evolve?
EDIT: Seems like I can't join the SVT directly but I can go for an Evolve zero-exit-fee fixed tariff. Is that what you did?0 -
