Why would it be fixed for 6 months when the new price cap comes out in April 22? Don’t think there is anything that says a SoLR has to fix the prices for 6 monthsIf it's any help, Green Network Energy went bust on the 27th of January, EDF were appointed on the 30th and I was charged EDF rates from the 31st. So you might get a couple more days on NR rates. The SoLR tariff will be subject to the Ofgem price cap and fixed for 6 months.
I think people are forgetting that we are already in to 1+ month of the current cap being in place, after it was adjusted from 1st October. So it was fixed for 6 months...but isn't anymore...and will tick down every day, until April 22.
Surely any SoLR transfer is not fixed for 6 months, and would just run in line with the cap (and the April review date). As otherwise, they could have to take on a failed supplier on March 25th 2022, and have to keep them on the "current" cap level for another 6 months, potentially (definitely!!?) losing even more money. I don't think so.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

As with Symbio before them, only real surprise is that they didn't collapse earlier.1

If you could I would be very grateful as I can’t find it on ofgem’s website. Just says you’d be put on the price cap which is due to be reviewed in April. Possibly said it would be fixed for 6 months prior to 1 October which would be true but not necessarily nowQrizB said:
It's in Ofgem's guidance for SoLRs. I've posted the extravt at least once but don't have time to find it again now.Curiousgirl1 said:

Only the fifth since 2018 - I'm an amateur compared with some and I'm fortunate /lucky that the debits/credits in each case have been relatively smallShedman said:
How many SOLRs is that now BD 😅?brewerdave said:Oh well , nearly 10 months at a good tariff - mustn't grumble -especially as I OWE them ~ £45 even after this month's DD is credited.

So annoyingly the next cheapest is Bristol Energy, their online system is not working at the moment so for the first time in my life I've switched over the phone. For those who want to escape the SOLR and not be stuck for six weeks tomorrow is probably the last day so I wouldn't wait around.0

For those who want to escape the SOLR and not be stuck for six weeks tomorrow is probably the last day so I wouldn't wait around.Just took a look at their tariffs and there was nothing cheaper than their standard capped variable rate, which is the same as you would be on with the SoLR, so not sure what the benefit of switching would be?I assume you were looking at the tariff details (standing charge, rate per kWh) not just at the monthly DD estimate?

Any more secret tariffs floating around? If I knew about the British Gas or Octopus ones mentioned earlier in the thread, I would've jumped on them.
I wonder, for those of us who were SOLRed from Symbio to E.ON Next before completing our switch to NR, if we'd be better or worse off by being assigned back to E.ON again ...0
