I hoped I would hand notice in 4 weeks and they would put me on garden leave and pay me it seems the other job role is the get out clause unless I agree and go in and tell everyone how good my my new employer is and they have more positions I am sure they would want me out the way
You appear to be totally missing the point in all of this.  In your first post you said you were 'offering' 4 weeks notice so I'm not clear what your actual contractual notice period is because that's what matters.  Once you hand your notice in, it is entirely up to your employer as to how you are treated, so it could be that they put you on garden leave or they ask you to work in sales or something else or pay you in leu of notice, their choice.  Your contract will also specify where you work and again, it's the contractual position that matters.
As others have said, I would be very careful how you behave if you continue working for your current employer during your notice period, or for that matter if your on garden leave.  The only way you'll find out is to check your contract (which will give your employer all the options but not you) and see what course of action they take.

Handed in my 4 weeks notice 2 days ago I was asked to return all equipment asap and to end work immediately however gardening leave was not mentioned I offered the 4 weeks they said go now and didnt ask me to do any other role. I presume they owe me 1 months pay plus holidays?

Holidays can be taken during the notice period.

    Why do you presume that?
What does your contract say about notice?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That would also mean that they have to pay you for that notice. As you are in a sales role, they don't want you with their customers. They should pay you your notice period and any accrued holiday (although they may say that you have to take that during the notice period). If your notice is no more than one week in excess of the statutory minimum for your period of service, they should pay you at full rate.

Your employer can require you to take your annual leave during your notice period.  Other than that, you should still be paid for the 4 weeks, but obviously if you have taken annual leave, you will not get that on top.
    Have you returned everything now?

Good luck in the new role, which I assume you start 1st August.  I hope you take a more positive attitude to the new role than the relationship had soured to in the current (old) company.  Otherwise, I pity your new employer.

Didn't you think of asking these questions before you left? Or did you just "run" for the door when you were told to leave..
