Notice in? Furlough or garden leave?

I am in a sales role and going to a competitor I am offering 4 weeks notice. I have just come back off furlough. Will the company put me back on furlough for 4 weeks or pay me my salary for gardening leave?

As you're now back working then i would assume you will need to work your notice. Why do you think they will put you back on furlough? Speak to your employer.

I'm in sales going to a competitor so they wont want me to work half of the staff still on furlough. Plus that way the government pay me!

What you mean is you would like to stay home and get paid. It's unlikely that you would be put back onto furlough.

They could also put you somewhere else, rather than in sales.

Lots of people have continued to work all through lockdown and they live with extremely vulnerable people. Of course you don't have to continue to go to work but don't expect any wages if you did do this.

I suggest you ask your employer whether they will pay you in lieu of notice.

Of course you can go back into the office - your father's condition is no concern of your employers. Plenty of people have been working throughout, and often in frontline jobs, despite having family members who are shielding.
