Notice in? Furlough or garden leave?

Exactly they had to have furloughed you by 10th of June and to be eligible for furlough you had to be on their RTI submission by March 19th, neither of which matches the OP. everyone’s very aware of the plight of new starters, I’d think long and hard before potentially voluntarily joining their unhappy little grouppoppy12345 said:
Not with your new employer you wouldn't be. 10th June was the final date in which an employer could furlough you, if you wasn't furloughed by that date.col81 said:Why would I not get furlough again if it happens in say 2 months time?? Surely I would2 -
So what is the issue if you have a new job and you can start when you want? You are not happy where you are so just leave. They will probably be quite happy for you leave without notice if they don't have to pay you.0

Is wanting to get paid not a good enough reason? Most employers include wording in their contracts that allows them to assign you work outside your specific job description. If they have (or think they have) then getting them to pay you might be tricky.col81 said:They wont let me do sales so why should I do another job that is not my role
From your previous messages they aren't letting you do sales from home, they want you to go into the office but you are refusing.
Which sounds like neither of you wants to budge and they are the ones who have the money.
Isn't finding ways to persuade people to part with their money part of sales?

Your new employer won't be able to put you on furlough.col81 said:

Employees can only be furloughed if they were paid by their current employer before furlough existed.
Otherwise you'd see a load of fake employees.
If you meant you'd still be a your current employer in two months, then I imagine there is a good chance they will do the opposite of what you want them to do.1 -
I hoped I would hand notice in 4 weeks and they would put me on garden leave and pay me it seems the other job role is the get out clause unless I agree and go in and tell everyone how good my my new employer is and they have more positions I am sure they would want me out the way0

Always advisable to leave on good terms if possible, you never know when you might need a reference in the future.col81 said:I hoped I would hand notice in 4 weeks and they would put me on garden leave and pay me it seems the other job role is the get out clause unless I agree and go in and tell everyone how good my my new employer is and they have more positions I am sure they would want me out the way0 -
Has your new employer asked for a reference yet?1

Why don't you hand your notice in, which you need to do anyway to take the new job. Whether they ask you to work or put you on garden leave will then be known and no need for speculation in this forum.1

You started numerous similar threads desperate to know when furlough was going to change, when did you decide that you needed to sit at home on furlough/garden leave as your dad has asthma (not in itself criteria for a shielding letter for him, let alone you.) The British lung foundation reckons 8 million brits suffer from asthma, they can’t all lock themselves at home until a vaccine is foundcol81 said:I cant go in the office my dad has chronic asthma so I wont be going in the office. I've been working from home they wont allow me on systems due to who I am going to work for.when did you decide your asthmatic father was your main concern anyway? He wasn’t 6 weeks ago....col81 said:On furlough, 2 kids off school, can they make me go back in if nobody to mind them? I can work from home but it will be a struggle 1 of my children has learning disabilities6
