Shell haircuts

Girl comes to house £6 each for little ones
DS1 (13) goes to barbers £10 -£14 depending on who does it and day of week
Guy who cuts mine at home is doing them later - not sure of cost but think it is £5 HTH

Lights on conifer in garden - saved getting the step ladder out in wind and rain! Will see what they look like.

Sorted out present requests with DS1 and 2.

Need to do a bit of surfing now and check the other stick lights for outside. Indoor lights ready for the tree whic is good news.

• Brrrrrr!!! Freezing cold and chucking it down in buckets here. Charlie's currently having a nap - suupermarket shopping was done, and DH is now out sorting out something else for work, so i am trying to enjoy the peace here. I should do something but i really don't have the energy to.

I have just seen the links you put on for studio, and that wasn't the one i was meaning.
Try this link:

codes are:
220-798-15KP in silver
223-266-26KP in black

suppose i should do something before charlie awakes. Might light the oven and put the beef joint in on low - might provide some extra heat in the house.

Quick question ......

How much does it cost to get your kids hair cut?? My two are almost 5 (10 days to go) and 3. Each just had a trim about 1/4 inch and we were in there half hour in total including coats on/off paying etc.

£14!! Is this the going rate or am I just tightfisted??

Drive safe solway x

I think that is a bit pricey. Our local hair dresser charges £4.50 each for little ones and I thought that was expensive.

Lil_me congratulations on your OU results. I started a Maths degree with them but gave up and had kids instead. I finished my Masters (in Education) with them three years ago and I loved it. Teaching, I still miss terribly but hopefully some day I will be well enough to do something like that again.

We have snow here. Boys... 18 year olds have gone out sledging and to check out conditions for skiing.

Two dogs have peed on lounge carpet today and I have used water and white vinegar to try to clean it and eliminate the smell. Does anyone know of anything else I should do? It is a 100% wool carpet so don't want to risk ruining it.

I need to post a list to keep track. I am halfway through all sorts of things, a bit confusing!
Shell - sounds expensive to me. DS will need a haircut soon, his hair is in his eyes and going wispy at the nape of his neck, but I know it will make him look like a little boy rather than a baby. I am going to put it off as long as possible!
Must stop going round like a headless chicken, and finish jobs so that I can cross them off.
Manic [STRIKE]Monday[/STRIKE] Saturday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
Clear and wipe those surfaces, even if around things!
Level Two
Clean floors
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, wipe any spills
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe & replace small appliances such as kettle, toaster etc (wipe under too, especially the toaster!)
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances, don't forget those kick boards
Check those washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker hood and dishwasher filters

My list
Whizz up pineapples into puree and freeze
Iron ebay stuff, pack up stuff that has sold and list new stuff
Write overseas cards
Make mock ticklist
Make sixth form ticklist
Prepare presentation for Tuesday and email
Set up eight work outfits (yay! eight days to go til the holidays!)

poohbear carpet cleaner told me once to use plain white bar of hand soap and really hot water on our wool carpet - works fine.

AnW'smum hope it stops raining for you soon, any news on the train lights?

It seems they are doomed  I started to cry which set A off. DH really wanted it in the first place and pestered me til I gave in! But I did have to admit that they looked good when up. And the logical part of me says that they are just lights, but they are what he chose and I so want to get them working.

To try and cheer A & W up we went to try and get a new train (as I have not seen one like this on my travels over the last week or so). Found one that was just about acceptable to A only to ask for it and be told they had no more and planned to get no more. Couple more places tried and then aborted mission and came home.

Going to have mooch on ebay see if I can find something but think I have managed to convince A that if might be worth waiting until next year and have a full choice earlier on rather than grab what is left on offer now.

Sorry for the ramble, isn't it silly how the little things catch us out more than the bigger issues.

Pleased you managed to get it sorted, if only we lived closer my partner might have been able to fix them if they were repairable, likes his electrical fangly things...however some things now it's just not worth them being fixed as it costs more than new.

Been to the tip, road was partly closed because of a fire at the stables near there, thankfully no animals were hurt, in this weather (we've had snow too but hasn't 'stuck' was told it has in Consett) must have been someone setting it on fire, idiots..

Thanks for the item numbers Michelle, when they arrive and DP shouts at me I am blaming you :rotfl: wonder if Studio do codes, it's well over a year since I last ordered anything from there.

Went to Lidl, spent more than I planned but we've got enough bog roll etc to last until after Xmas now :rotfl: had to go to Sainsbury's for some things due to lack of stock in there, was shocked that Sainsbury's flour is cheaper than Lidls, annoyed too as I'd just bought it. Anyway no use crying over a few pence now.

I've got the kitchen to put back together as it looks like a bomb has hit it again, I don't have a naturally tidy gene in my body, I must be the messiest cook ever! I need to redo the tree later, have said the boys can have the lights on for a bit so will do it when they are in bed. Still haven't done my room as it was 2pm when DP got up and haven't stopped since then doing other stuff, think I'll have to do that when they are settling for bed.
One day I might be more organised...........
