Lil Me - congratulations!, and thanks for the curse.....:p
Believe me you wouldn't envy my kitchen. The oven is the only nice thing in there. No cupboards, just a table, a sink, and some shelves. I would take a photo but I would have to shift the tools out of the way first. As for the bathroom.......
LJD1 - it is a Rangemaster Professional Plus from Biasco (on Quidco). We went and had a look at a big showroom with lots of different brands (Bunny Appliance Warehouse). The quality is really variable - even within the same brands range. This was the best quality build I could find without paying a lot more for a Falcon. Have a look at some somewhere, and make a shortlist of features you want. For me it had to have two fan ovens, a non integrated grill and fit in with a period house. And I am still jealous of Penelope Penguin and her Aga! Aga owns Rangemaster, and I do have, as two weeks ago, an Aga Woodburning stove - but it just isn't the same. Be aware that some of them (range ovens) need a 30 amp fuse - our system wouldn't support this and we have had to have a minor re-wire to fit it.
Lots and lots to do. Running out of time, got quite a bit out of the way today already.
Still to do:- Remove old wardrobe from boys bedroom. shift and sort toys to go upstairs, move their Christmas Tree so OH can paint last bit of LR.
- Clean the new fireplace so we can take a photo of the boys in their santa hats in front of the new stove for the Christmas Cards.
- Get OH to put the DR and Kitchen skirting boards back on (from the re-wire) so I can put the furniture back
- Go and get the real tree for the DR, and take boys to see Santa. Today is the last free day we have before Christmas!
- Take the boys to the Steam festival tomorrow.
- Make and freeze the Cranberry sauce.
- Clear the major hotspot that is the DR table. Can't see wood at the moment - and it seats 8!

Done everything that needed to be done in the kitchen, S&S'd the living room and pottered about in the spare room, just need to head upstairs now but need to wait till OH gets up.
Think I'll make another brew whilst I'm waiting....0 -
Just ordered a bargain pool table for teenie, that's him finished and this will be such a surprise, he wanted cash but he's got this instead AND I've saved £20 :j
Still waiting for OH to get up think I'll go and poke him with a big stick :rolleyes:0 -
Just popping in to catch up!
I'm not planning on doing any flying myself, BUT I do have a list for everyone else in the family to do! OH to clear the desk in the bedroom, so that I can get rid, DS1 and DS2 to clear the boxes on top of their wardrobe so that I can move the puzzles and games from the top of my wardrobe into theirs. DD to do some more Christmas shopping. Oh, and another bag of stuff out of my room to the charity shop.
I'm just off to buy petrol, and the few bits of shopping I need. I may pop into town while they're all at the cinema, as I could do with some new bras - why oh why do I always seem to end up buying them in the winter, when it involves removing so many layers?? And why, when I find one that is just right , do they only have one, so that I can't save myself the effort of doing it all again another day by just buying two the same?? Thinking about how busy it will be just now, maybe I'll leave it until Monday morning instead.
I have to sew up DD's cropped bolero that I've just finished knitting, and take up my new trousers as well as making profiteroles and chocolate sauce for tomorrow - so I really shouldn't be here!
Have a great weekend everyone! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
Thanks peeps, Dusty it's a Maths Degree, I know, stupid doing Maths but was the main thing I was good at at school, bit different going back to it at degree level 15 years later
Are you doing it with the open university? I'm doing a maths degree with them!!!The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Morning all.
Been to Tesco and Homebase - errily quiet in homebase at 8:55 - blissful smell of christmas trees.
White vinegar 47p in Tesco so not bad. Used up all my points coupons and got a poinsetta for Nan only £1.87 and it is really big.
Right need to check the christmas lights next, go to Lidl and post office at the bottom of the road to post those OS christmas cards.
I hope it is not raining where you are cause it is pouring here. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
We got rain here too Dusty.
At work today till 4pm. Have brought my xmas cards in with me so will hopefully get them done this afternoon. Also need to do up lists of food for DD1 family birthday party (18th dec), boxing day family and now DH has invited them over for his birthday (30th Dec). Boxing day was gonna be buffet stuff - HM pizza, nuggets with dips, sausage rolls, meats rolls etc etc so cannot really do that again for DH birthday so gonna have to come up with something else. Problem is there will be 9 of us and I dont have seating for that many so but confussed as to what to do.
House looked ok when I left for work, hoping DH put the dishes away.0 -
Dusty never fear we have rain too, as usual!
gunsandbanjos yep, doing it via the OU (consultant won't let me go to college/uni), started in February but then had the worst few months ever, so was really suprised when the pass result came in. Been speaking to DP about it and he agreed, if we can pass when going through what we were, we can do anything :rotfl:

oh and that ones cute, my DS2 wants it, but there is none in stock
Right, lazy morning, have done the essentials like feeding kids and animals, stripped DS2s bed as he wet again and went through his pj pants (ARGH!) dogs out, got stuff out of freezer for today & brisket for tomorrow, dressed kids etc. I've put the dishwasher back on as the stupid tablet hasn't disolved properly and is just splattered over the dishes..coffee time, see if I can motivate myself. DP doesn't want getting up until 1pm as he had a late finish at work so will get what I can done down here, really want to get my room tidied as I need to pile some of DS1s stuff in there so we can get the bed out for my mother staying, but will have to wait.

Morning all (just),
Firstly Congratulations Lil_me! Like you said if you can pass with all that stress going on you can do anything. Well done!
Did zero Flying yesterday, I came home from work briefly to feed the cats and change for a night out. I was in a foul mood 'cos of the traffic making me run late, then I was late for meeting up with Blokie and his mate and girlfriend for a meal before we went to see a band. I had toast in the car on the way there instead (woop di do) and stayed sober to drive p**sed folks home at 1 in the morning. Never again. I was still in a mard when I got home from his this morning and ready to chuck it all in.
Anyhow, calmed down now. I've got 4 hours to myself until he shows up so we (that's me; he doesn't drive grrr) can drive to North Yorks to deliver my Bro and SILs presents. I'm going to wizz round the livingroom so it's ready for getting my tree tomorrow which I'm over excited about! After that I need to write a new list of jobs to do. I've just rung the bank to extend my OD again and am cross with myself as I was doing well getting it down. I really need to up my moneysaving skills in the New Year, apart from my major loan I thought I would be straight by now. Grumble grumble..
Do you know, I think I'm still grumpy, off to do some stuff before I pollute folks' mornings!
