Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 3
Comments
-
Just checking in with a 3lb loss. Took me 2 weeks though.
Still, at least it's gone.
I have been trogging up the hill to work and back 3 days a week. It's a killer but I WILL get this weight off.
Good news in that a couple of pairs of work trousers which were "amber" are now green. I can wear them now so that will save me some money. And a skirt that was "red" is now amber. Yay!7 -
I like your traffic light system.i may just have to nick it!

Hi all, I'm afraid I joined the challenge then became ill so my eating has really gone to pot and I haven't had the strength to get up and weigh myself or even eat some days. So just logging in to say sorry. feel better now but I think it's a long road ahead
Hope everyone is doing well. xIllegitimi non carborundumQuot Libra, Quam Breve TempusSPC NUMBER 025

Good morning, everyone.
Congratulations to Losers 👏 , commiserations to Gainers 😢
hanert I’m sorry you’ve been ill, glad you’re feeling better, and hope you’ll soon make a good full recovery.
monnagran you have a marvellous way with words, monnagran said:... Not ruling out any food, but eating smaller portions, relishing every mouthful and stopping when I have had enough. It sounds easy, but it's harder than it seems. It's the stopping when I've had enough that gets me every time. My stomach is saying, "whoa! I don't need any more. Prise your fingers away from that fork." My mouth is saying, "My goodness, this is SO delicious, it would be a waste to leave it."
Sigh.
Slow down everyone. Take time to smell the roses. Just don't eat them.
ouraggie great work, love your colour-coding system.
molly STS sounds like very good going given all that’s going on in your life at present. 👍
Menu for today

L : jacket potato with baked beans; yogurt
D : sausages, tomatoes, some sort of other veg (depending what’s in the freezer); yogurt with raspberries
S : nothing planned nor wanted, but if I weaken then plain yogurt).

ingrained habits can be hard to break
Hanert sorry you have been so poorly we are here when you're ready
Molly I was thinking of you earlier my friend sent a 'clip' of her new golden R puppy with the comment that they have officially gone crazyhe's so cute
I'm glad she was able to persuade her OH to have another dog he swore never again after they lost their last one I think the compromise was a puppy rather than another older rescue dog

Hanert, so sorry you've been ill. Just concentrate on getting better, battles with the weight can.......um......wait.
Brambling, I'm with you on ingrained habits. I blame the war! Being born before it began I was brought up in a time when eating every morsel of food you were lucky to get, was considered part of the war effort. Wasting it was the eighth of the seven deadly sins.
blue, I love you. Unfortunately I would rather write eloquently about disagreeable things like weight, and the unlovely state of my disorganised house, than to actually shift my lazy torso and do something about them.
Still, I'll suck up the generous compliment and glow for a while.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna - I was born to older parents who were married in 1940 and had my two eldest sisters during the war so for us it was their memory of rationing combined with being poor (at least country poor meant a large garden). So like you when i was growing up it was considered a sin to waste any food. My mum lived to 92 and still cleared her plate any LOs were put between two plates in the fridge and often fried the next day (we won't talk about her love of the frying pan and her pace maker
)

I was a child of a war child and she instilled in me that I had to eat every last bit of food whether I liked it or was hungry. I have to get "permission" from DH to leave my food - he often sees me struggling and says gently its ok to leave it. I now do so but its a hard habit to break !!
