Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 3

Hi Marion
I put all my information into the NHS BMI checker. It's given me an indication of how much I should weigh.
Quite a varied range all of which is apparently healthy and an calculation of my BMI and how many calories I need to be eating to looses weight. Again quite a variation which I suppose depends how quickly you ant to loose it. There is such a confusing number of "diets" out there so I am aiming to eat what is healthy (as far as possible) and stop snacking on sugary foods (actually stop snacking altogether). The one thing I can see is that I needs to start getting some exercise again. Like you I think I'll know when I start to feel and look better.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Hi all I am so happy I could jump up and down. I have managed to shed an other 2,5 lb mainly by limiting portion size, stop snacking and be scrimpy on carbs. So travelling, family dinner, drinking and a quiet week back at work and I have managed to stick to my 0.5-1 lb a week rough plan.
Any how to day is a beautiful 8-10 k run
B is yoghurt and home made granola
Lunch is roasted vege with rye bread
Dinner was a mini end of holiday fest, but it has deteriorated as one family member is now working. Bless, he has to start paying food and rent again!

Checking in with a 1lb gain
After what feels like a very long absence, I'm back to start losing weight again. It feels like I've been stuffing my face forever, I just haven't had the motivation not to eat. Boredom at work, stress of moving, lots of excuses hereAmazingly I've managed to only put on 1lb - it feels like I have put on half a stone. The clothes that I've got back into are feeling a little squeezed again - its that spare tyre!!
Thanks for reminding me of the the NHS BMI calculator Toni's Friend - I used to use the app on my phone as it keeps a record. Just had a look and I'm now in the middle of the overweight section - it cheered me up as there's a little graph showing that last year I was hovering on obese. My goal for the next 12 months is to get into the healthy section, about 11 stone, so just over a stone to lose. I also need to reduce my waist size which is about 37 inches. It says I need to be under 31.5 inches but apparently waist/tummy fat is the last to go so I'd better keep on with it.
Ditty good going with the running. I was doing three runs a week before moving and I need to get back on it again. I've managed to do two runs a week (3 miles) the last couple of weeks, so I need to do more and longer.

Today's eats:
Breakfast: Banana and water melon
Lunch : Mozzarella salad (and very nice it was too)
Dinner; Pizza (just a half of a shop bought one)Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.4 -
Weird facts, because I just ate a choc chip cookie I thought I would share that it would only take one of those a day for 55 days ie 2 month to put on a kilo! I know thats where I went wrong, it's all the little things that add up. Happy Saturday.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Still getting used to posting, this is my first time on a forum as I don't use social media.
Congratulations to everyone who has lost or sts, to anyone who gained, why not start afresh now or tomorrow is a new day!.
TTB hope everything goes well with the cat and that you haven't got any unblocked chimneys!.
Brambling hope you had a good break and feel refreshed.
Really lucky with the weather here, it's either been cloudy or sunny for the last few days so getting out for a walk daily which is about the only exercise I do.

Morning, I've been a bit patchy on here as I've been feeling a bit rubbish this week.
Weighing in with a 1lb gain please Brambling. I think it is a combination of eating to make myself feel better (didnt work) and then when I did start to feel better Friday I've had a voracious appetite, not mouth hunger but belly rumbling existential hunger! Anyway it's such funny times I'll just do what I can and take the consequences on the chin/s!
2 week cat trial starts today, we are collecting her this morning ... ooooooh
Anyway have a good day all, everybody is doing so well 🌼🌻A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks6 -
1/2 lb loss
Marion, I use the NHS BMI, but I just want to fit in the clothes I used to wear! My husband is on the upper part of his healthy weight bracket. It would be crazy him losing 10 kg and still being in the healthy limit as NHS suggests. One of colleagues had an eating disorder, you could tell, super thin, but she exercised a lot, a lot of muscles, her BMI was in the healthy range, doctors didn't worry. My point is don't rely exclusively on BMI, discuss it with your GP.6 -
Bit of a bad day here yesterday. I was bored watching TV and stressing about things in general when the lure of the cracker overtook me. One led to another and another and another etc. I was doing so well at not snacking too. Still could have been worse. I didn't move on to the chocolate as I would normally have done and I only had a little bit of pizza because I couldn't eat any more. So thank you, Marion, for encouraging me with the thought that today is another day.
Breakfast: Watermelon and pineapple
Lunch; Ham salad
Dinner: Roast chicken. I'll try to limit the potato and fill up on veg instead.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8
