Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 3

Morning!
I've been slipping... the usual tired means carbs route... carbs means marmite bread means weight gain for me though and they do nothing to help with the tiredness, I just think they will. I'm still shattered today so I wont bother posting my menu but I will do as soon as I feel more in control of things.
Ouraggie I do find it funny you havent told your husband!! Smirks.
Have a good day all. 🌸🌸A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks7 -
I will leave out weighing for now because I have had a week in bed until yesterday, and things are usually not good after no exercise.
I got straight back onto it yesterday though, with a three hour walk, and tonight my aqua class starts again. Hooray for that, except my costume is mysteriously tiny after six months, and I look like a burst sausage..

I know that burst sausage look honey, and it not only looks fairly disgusting, it actually feels as though you are bursting out of your skin as well. Not nice!
I have been plugging away as usual, but yesterday I went out with a friend who decreed that we would have fish and chips for lunch. I protested, but obviously too feebly as she went ahead and bought them. Fortunately she bought the half sized pensioners meal, but even so I had difficulty in eating it all and didn't really enjoy it either. I couldn't say anything because it was very kind of her, but as I only have to eat half a biscuit to put weight on, I was not happy and felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day.
You are doing well ouraggie, I can't wait for your DH to notice that you are slimmer, to which you will say casually, "Really?" and continue with your subterfuge.

Morning All,
I knew it'd been a while since I'd posted but a couple of people had two weigh-ins from when I last caught up!! As usual, sorry to anyone I've missed - there was rather a lot to read through
Artytarty Welcome and best of luck. I can sympathise with having a slightly iffy relationship with food and have also been known to finish things off because somehow hiding an empty packet seems better than admitting to eating half a packet.
Blue Doggy Congratulations on the loss
Brambling Congratulations on the loss and have a lovely time in Dorset. Hopefully you and your sister can encourage each other and the dog won't lead you too far astray.
ditty Well done on the need for a belt and I hope you enjoyed the evening drinking with family
dumpling Commiserations on the gain and best of luck with getting back to healthy eating
Gingerlily Commiserations on the gain, it does seem particularly harsh when you've not changed much. It sounds like you've done quite a lot of exercise and best of luck with 5:2 if you decide to go for that this week
greenbee I often find that if I've gone a long (ish, I never really go that long without food) time without eating that I end up far more hungry after having something than I was before.
hanert Hopefully this will be less of a funny week. Good luck with finding a bit of the bathroom floor which weighs consistently. I think I had to move my scales about a mm at a time across most of the room before I found the correct spot.
honey I hope you're feeling better now and well done for getting back to exercise so quickly
lapis_lazuli Very well done on the loss, especially after a couple of slight calorie blips
Living Proof Both congratulations for the loss and commiserations for the gain. I hope you had a good time at your daughter's, despite the feeding, and at least you're still down overall across the past two weeks.
Marion Congratulations for the loss. I don't know if it's because rescue cats have known different but our cat, who was a stray when we took him on, is definitely a lot more affectionate than the ones I had from when they were kittens.
Molly As others have said, don't worry too much about what you're eating and try to enjoy the time with Bonnie while she's so little. I hope you're managing to get into a bit more of a routine and that Mollly dog's slightly less put out now.
monnagran Well done for the STS. Did you ever get round to the boxes or have you managed to find other things to put them off? Strangely, I actually prefer weighing in on a Monday because not wanting to have to 'fess up to a gain sometimes helps to keep me slightly in check over the weekend.
nananibbles Well done for the STS. At least accepting that things aren't likely to calm down any time soon means you can plan around it, rather than just putting things off until things are less busy.
ouraggie Well done for a STS, especially when you've been away. Don't beat yourself up for taking the car to work, I wouldn't fancy a 50 minute walk at the start of the day at any time but certainly not on my first day back.
sn1987a Congratulations for the loss
TF Well done, that's an amazing first week loss. I think you've definitely earned yourself a G&T and, if you like flavoured gin, I can recommend Malfy's lemon
TTB Well done, that's an excellent loss and don't beat yourself up about slipping a bit. Your body's going through a lot at the moment so do whatever you need to get through. Good luck with meeting the potential cat today.
zippy Massive congratulations for both losses and for hitting your target. It's always nice when people start to notice.
Despite the fact that I completely lost the plot on Saturday, and haven't managed to pull it back together yet, I still somehow managed a STS this week. I don't know whether it's to do with lockdown or I'm just a raging misery but I'm finding it really hard at the moment and the smallest things seem to send me running (well, slouching slowly) to the biscuit tin. We were meant to be having friends over for drinks in the garden on Sunday but IzHe woke up with a cold on Saturday so we had to cancel and I know that it's a pathetic thing to get upset about but it seems that there are so few things to look forward to at the moment that it's kind of tipped me over the edge. I'm sure I'll manage to snap out of it soon enough and hopefully I won't have done too much damage before then.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx9 -
Hi Iza now you're making it sound like i just went to an other country for a tipple - I did have a bit of a lot of red on Sunday night, but that was sort of a self destructive revenge on not drinking the day before at the actual family lunch as I had to shuttle everybody around. Anyways I'm back to cucumber w rye bread and goat cheese today - I can do it, even if it takes me a week or two to get back to where I was I don't mind.
So far today is yoghurt, oats, almonds, banana and coffee for breakfast and 2 slices of rye w goat cheese for lunch and cucumber and banana.
Dinner is not until 7 and it will probably be a vegan chili, and exercise is 0 unless I get myself out for a run or a walk tonight.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Thank you, Izadora. I tried a flavoured gin for the first time at the weekend. A neighbour gave me a glass of chilli and ginger gin. It was lovely. I've discovered there's a little bit of a gin club going on around here.
So today:
Breakfast - Banana, grapes and strawberries
Lunch - Cold meat salad
Dinner - Harissa carrot soup with warm baguette.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Good evening everyone
I have been an absolute angel for the past 2 days (polishes halo) but only because I made myself really poorly with my diabetes because of eating all the wrong things. I'm such a plonker but fortunately I have a lovely GP who is helping me by sorting out blood tests and appointments with the diabetes nurses. I feel quite a lot better today but has been hard cutting out the sugary crap and reducing my carbs. I always always sabotage myself but I keep trying as deep down I want to be healthy and live a few more years yet.
Well done everyone for keeping going, you all inspire me to do better so thank you x

Morning all 🙂
Food wise I'll be limping along today. I've already had toast and jam, I will have fried tomatoes and a couple of new potatoes for lunch, then hearty soup for tea with stewed apple and yogurt for pud.
I'm still a bit tired from the chemo. Tired isn't the right word though. More like doddery. Best to stay as still as possible.
My son took me to see the cat yesterday. She was described as 'not very nimble' in the rescue write up but managed to get up a chimney to avoid us! Such larks!! In the end she proved susceptible to bribery by treats (aren't we all) and it ended quite successfully. She's big and very fluffy. The next step is to trial her here and see if we are allergic. Fingers crossed. It's good of the rescue centres to allow a trial. That's my update, substituting cat news in lieu of self control and weight loss 😉
Have a good ol' day 💛🌻A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -
@tighteningthebelt - please be kind to yourself - you are going through such a lot atm xx
Well all quiet at the moment we are asleep (with one eye open)!! Im doing better with food - well Im trying.
DD and her girlfriend are coming down from Edinburgh for a few days so will try and watch what I eat but i have planned to make a cheesecake and trifle as DD won't be here for Christmas this year and we have not seen her since last Christmas (due to lockdown) x
Anyway we have woken up so must away, keep plodding on xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.5 -
Hi am working at home, so will take a run break in a mo and am waiting for an other call about outcome of my mothers operation.
Had breakfast.
Put running kit on and have booked a swim for first thing tomorrow morning. And two for next week.
Hoping to get a tooth fixed after lunch.
IN the afternoon I will need to make sure I eat before I go shopping - not to self.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
