Wish my trousers were falling off, Ditty. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future
Been raining here all day but starting to clear up a bit now. Himself kindly went to the local shops to get me tomatoes and cucumber as I had zero left.

Lunch: Feta cheese, with tomatoes, cucumber and spring onion.
Dinner - Carrot, lentil and harissa soup which I made yesterday. With crusty bread.
There's a bit of a plan going on here. We'll see on Friday if it's working or not.

Hello x
Good luck with your fast tighteningthebelt x
Well done to those who have lost.x
Im failing spectacularly atm. I think its having Bonnie has thrown my quite strict routine out of the window and Im comfort eating - well thats what my diary tells me !
I have gained quite a lot of weight which Im pretty upset about so need to address that asap as its becoming a pattern so it starts today. I have planned my meals for the day which I have not had the time for since Bonnie. Who would have thought a little ball of fluff would cause so much upheaval and change!!!! (I don't adapt well to change at the best of times as Im a bit OCD about my routines as they help me stay in control).
Anyway enough of the psychology Im going to at least maintain and try to lose a few pounds then start again with a brand new challenge. Good ness this weight loss lark is hard xx
Have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.5 -
Molly41 I would be inclined to enjoy Bonnie at the moment over losing weight. They are not little for long and the bonding and training takes such a lot of effort. I'm pleased you are so happy with her and that she's settling in. I'm eyeing up rescue cats at the moment but I havent made a move yet. Maybe after the chemo.
Anyway day 2 of fasting 🍽🍽
it's going well though my stomach is rumbling like mad. I think fasting suits me and I might decide that's my best strategy for maintenence. I think it's because its binary ... eat/dont eat ... which seems to suit me better than working in the grey areas of portion control and weighing. I find that as soon as I start eating I'm hungry for the rest of the day! We all have our own ways of doing things and sadly we must find it by trial and error!!
Have a lovely day everyone 🌷⚘A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks4 -
Well done on the fasting TTB. Do you think it's helping with the chemo side-effects? I can imagine that it would be a distraction at least, something else to think about and also provide you with a level of control and routine despite other people calling the shots with your treatment. But if it makes the treatment more bearable, even better.
I managed 19 hours yesterday (early finish Tuesday because of evening yoga, late start Wednesday because of lunchtime Pilates), and was surprisingly un-hungry until I started eating. I've just almost completed a week of very-low-carb Fast 800 to deal with holiday weight gain and then plan to start gradually increasing both calories and carbs so that I can move on to 5:2 for maintenance.4 -
Hello x
Yes tighteningthebelt it is much more important that she settles and is socialised and happy - which she is.
I will try and maintain and not stress the weight gain.
Ive just managed to have a large salad for my dinner whilst she slept - the first mindful meal Ive managed in ages and feel nice and full - really enjoyed it x
Have a good rest of the day - hope you get your rescue cat ttb xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

A little late in the day for me, but wanted to pop in. Yesterday was successful, though I did have to laugh when I thought about what I had written in my post about giving up sugar then proceeding to put rhubarb compot/jam down to add into my porridge, which is pretty sweet. I did have a small spoonful which I am fine with as it was more the bars of chocolate and cake that are my issue. I stuck to a meal plan though substituted the greens for spiced Dahl and cauliflower rice which was given to me by my neighbour from Mr Ms - in fact he gave my daughter 12 of them passed on by a friend who is a distributor I think, all close to their use by date so that's lunch and dinner sorted for the next week
. I'm shouting very loudly at the sugar Monnagran - well I will be when I go over for a rellie's birthday later this afternoon, particularly as we are taking 'Colin' with us
(The Catapillar cake).
Well done on your loss Brambling, on the need for a belt Ditty and another successful fast TTB. I definitely think we have to find what works for us as individuals. For me the thought of fasting fills me with dread in fact the whole idea of dieting makes me feel anxious. I know that if I restrict my intake, even just a little too much, for just a few days, my body kicks back and I end up binging to replace those calories. That's why for me I am going really slowly, like standing still mostlyas I know that it is the only thing that works for me but I do wish I could fast or reduce my calories a little more.
Anyhoos off to make shepherdess pie.
Meal plan
B - porridge and bits and rhubarb compot
S- plum
L - cauliflower rice with spiced Dahl and wok fried greens
S- no Colin the Catapiller!
D - same as lunch
P- apple and blueberry porridge with a splodge of compot

@tighteningthebelt I would definitely recommend a rescue cat, I've had two elderly ones and gave them a good life in their twilight years. Current fluffy monster is also from the Blue Cross but was quite a lot younger when I 'adopted' him. They can take a while to settle in when they arrive but it's well worth the wait as they seem to appreciate having a new 'forever' home after the upheaval and stress of being uprooted from familiar people and surroundings. Good luck with the fasting.6
