Hello x
Im awake again!!!
But …..at least it is cooler as we had a huge downpour and thunderstorm.
I really struggled yesterday with the heat and had a bit of a binge but managed to halt it. I wonder why I am struggling so much to get back on track?
Anyway will try again…got to try.
Hope you all doing ok.
@tighteningthebelt - you have done so well especially with your health issues xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9 -
I don't think that this heat encourages weight loss at all. I certainly don't want to cook, and sandwiches and ice cream are not exactly what I'm supposed to be eating. Also I read somewhere that it was a good idea to eat a packet of crisps a day to keep our salt levels up. Well, that's medical advice isn't it? And you can get really big packets of crisps if you look carefully.I believe that friends are quiet angels

L apple with 25g feta, 25g mixed nuts.
D salmon with broccoli and pea mash. Banana and live yogurt.
Agree with all comments about the heat.... phew!!
Have a good day all of you 🙂☀️A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -
Too hot for too much walking outdoors but my appetite is reduced so probably balances out.8

Afternoon All,
I hope nobody's dissolved into a puddle yet, I'm not sure where the promised storms are but it's still clear blue skies and baking hot here.
Brambling Well done on the loss and don't worry about your comment to the skinny colleague, it sounds like it was more than justified.
SandyShores I hope that work calms down a bit for you and good luck with getting everything ready for you daughter to move back home.
nananibbles Sorry for the gain, at least it was only a very small one, and I hope you enjoy your time at home. I find that lack of sleep is one of my biggest obstacles when it comes to eating healthily but best of luck for a better day today.
TTB Wow, that's a lot of weight between us. Well, between the rest of you really, I've been a bit slack in adding to the total.
Molly Well done for trying to be kind to yourself. Dieting's hard enough at the best of times but when you're dealing with steroid-induced hunger as well it must be so much worse. I wish I had some tips for you for getting back on track but it's something I've always struggled with, as soon as I break a diet I tend to go into freefall.
ditty I'm exhausted just reading about your exercise!!
Honey I hope the box of plums didn't have any unwanted side effects...
Chloris Good luck with using myfitnesspal again. I find it a bit of a faff to log everything but it definitely helps for working out where unnecessary calories are coming from.
ouraggie Well done for the loss, all of the decorating and cleaning must've balanced out the ice cream.
monnagran I think it would be foolish to ignore such sound medical advice, although I do try to avoid opening large bags of crisps as I find it all too easy to finish them in one sitting.
LittleVoice I'm sure the lack of appetite will balance out the lack of walking but, even if it doesn't, I think we all have to do whatever it takes to cope with this weather.
I'm still eating healthily, not picking between meals and doing my C25K but, unfortunately, the scales seem to be very stubbornly stuck. I did wonder if I'd maybe underestimated the calories in some of my dinners so put everything into myfitnesspal and the most I've eaten is 1,500 but most days are closer to 1,200 calories. I know that I do have a tendency to be a bit like the stay puft marshmallow in the heat but it's still irritating that I'm trying this hard, I've even ignored the ice cream that's in the freezer, and getting nowhere. Oh well, all I can do is keep going and hope that my body catches up eventually.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8 -

Well done on the lost Ouraggie I have brought a small hand held fan which can send out a misting of water as well, too big for the handbag but handy for the middle of the night power surges.
We have finally had about 10 minutes of heavy rain without the threatened thunder and the temperature is now a muggy 26 with the promise of a muggy night again. Anyone want to borrow a furry hot water bottle who doubles as a alarm clock?
Monna I think I have been following your summer heatwave diet including the crisps, of course I should of realised it was just my body needing the salt
Lunch was a couple of breaded chicken thigh fillets airfried with salad. Not sure about dinner yet other than i have a small piece of salmon which needs cooking and some leftover prawn mayo so i may do a jacket potato as they cook quite quickly in the air fryer I do have some runner beans
Word of advise - check all spices before adding to the bowl as tandoori curry powder is the same colour as mixed spice....................... I assuming that it was someone telling me I shouldn't be baking a cakeLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -
Brambling, so glad that you are following medical advice and eating crisps.
I'm interested to hear that you have an air fryer. I've often wondered if they are worth giving up valuable space in a small kitchen for. I have a Remoska, kindly donated by someone who was buying a newer model, and a slow cooker. I use them both and find them really good as I'm only cooking for myself, but I think I may have to get rid of them if I go for an air fryer. They seem to be quite large.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna my air fryer is 13in tall by 35in around the bottom, I also have a small kitchen so it gets switched out with the toaster, electric pressure cookers and slow cooker which live under the stairs. I use my pressure cooker more than my slow cooker and I'm thinking of giving the slow cooker to my sister as she broke hers. Currently the airfryer is my most used gadgetLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7

I could not now live without my air fryer. Mine's a compact size, 10" in diameter and about 13" tall. Tefal. Just annoys me cos it's black and not cream like all my other gadgets. Saves me having to put the oven on for a few chips or the grill for 3 fish fingers etc. Cooks more evenly than my oven too!7
