1.5 lb lost here.
I need a way to stop eating my daughter's leftovers!9 -
Morning Losers,
If this hot weather doesn't take away our appetites then there is no hope for us! It's definitely salad and ice cream weather.
Thinking of you TTB. This complete fasting thing must be pretty gruelling, and then to follow it with chemo must leave you feeling really bleugh. T
I suppose that the fact that it is also making you lose weight is a blessing, but a very meagre one. Definitely Chin up, Tits out, time.
Have a quick trip into town booked today. Not looking forward to it much in this heat, but needs my st. This rest of the day will be spent in the coolest place I can find, with a book.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi just checking in, as I have not slept well this week and I have committed to a journal project that competes with my morning runs and then the heat ... what I'm trying to say is that my 5k in 10 days got broken yesterday due to writing, sleeping late and the heat - so I am now thinking I will not weigh in this weekend. I feel very puffy and while I'm doing the 8/16 I didn't really last night so had glasses of wine and will need to shake that off.
As I tend to get heat stroke from just looking at the sun if it's over 22 degrees, I will lie low and do other things in the next couple of days and eat lots of cucumber and carrots.
Any ways stay int he shade, stay cool and while I'll keep checking in, I won't weigh in till the 14th now.
TTB keep up the good work, and thinking of you.LBM Jan 2019 - £25.928/Active debt £14253, 54% sorted

Morning All,
How is it Friday again already? One of the benefits to a colleague taking leave at the busiest time of the month is that days have flown by.
lapis lazuli Welcome and best of luck
TTB Well done for the fasting and I hope that all goes well today
Brambling I hope you've enjoyed your week off
sn1987a Gaining only 1lb during holiday is a win as far as I'm concerned. Well done for getting back to it so quickly and this week's loss
nananibbles Congratulations on the loss and being so close to your target. I hope things are starting to calm down for you
monnagran I hope your internet issues are sorted out now and good luck with finding a cool spot for reading later
Living _proof Congratulations on the loss, the green smoothie diet is obviously working for you
ditty I'm not surprised you didn't want to run in yesterday's heat. I hope you enjoyed your evening with friends
LittleVoice Well done for the loss
SandyShores I've never been very successful at making overnight oats either. I'm not sure what I've done wrong but they're always a bit flavourless
Gingerlily Congratulations on the loss and best of luck working your way through the never-ending meat selection
I'm not sure if it's the heat or the lack of time to think about snacking but I've managed to stick really well to healthy eating this week. I've had lots of salad and veg and only 1 biscuit all week, which is almost unheard of for me!! It doesn't seem to be making a difference to the scales yet but I figure that if I keep on keeping on then it'll catch up eventually.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx9 -

Have you thought about overnight oats for breakfast? There are loads of different recipes, and they all seem to involve putting oats and your choice of flavours/liquids/fruits or seeds in a jar or plastic pot and then just letting them sit overnight. I had a go once but don't think I let them sit long enough. Someone who visits our office occasionally brings a pot with her, and she sits them on her desk until she's ready - they always look so nice. I usually have porridge, but thought this was a good alternative if you're not near a microwave - although some recipes say you can heat them up if you want to. I might have to have another go to see if I can work out a good recipe.
Not sure whether you wanted to breakfast on the go, as a smoothie would definitely be better - 2 hours is a lot of travelling time - and these probably aren't good if you are driving. I can never eat first thing in the morning, especially if I'm travelling, but then get starving between 9 am and mid-morning so if I have to travel in future I will be looking for something a bit healthier than the chocolate and muffins that always seem to be the only options I have available to me.

Blooming Heck, weighed this morning and I stayed the same!
I guess I shouldn't complain too much as I've had a strawberry iced doughnut, then an oreo filled doughnut these past couple of evenings. Calorie counting has gone out of the window. Just disappointing as I was down a couple of pounds two days ago. (doughnuts must weigh a pound each ).
Ditty, I only have water in my porridge with a sweetner, and then I add yoghurt after cooking. I'm wondering if I could cook my porridge the evening before and put it in the fridge, then in the morning before I leave swirl my fruit and porridge around. Izadora its so disappointing when everyone else's looks delicious.
I need to start running again too, but I'm finding it hard to get motivated.Mortgage 30Apr est. £184,460 £244,947, Ends Jan'38 Jun'39 (target Feb'31)

Sandy shores you must go to the same shops as me where each doughnut weighs a pound or two!! i swear this happens to me all the time, and apart from the abstraction of calorie-maths I fundamentally cannot understand how I gain more than the weight of the actual food!! I once put half a pound on after eating 25g plain crisps. Very frustrating!
NN I was wondering what your maintenence plans are if you dont mind me asking. As a (nearly) third time loser of 30kg I'm very interested. I read somewhere that if you've lost weight you have to have 20% less calories ongoing than someone of an equal weight who has never been bigger. As well as the expected recommendations; do more - but walking counts, watch less tv, don't eat in fast food places, sleep well, eat mindfully, eat healthy foods, weigh yourself regularly, get support. There is a lot of overlap with the healthy choices we make to lose weight in the first place, yet many people (me) put it all back on with a bit extra for luck. Just wondering what your thoughts are now you're nearly there. (I've thought before we could do with a maintenance thread on here, or just lurk about here with the lovely people)
Chemo went ok today, came back and slept, woke up ok but heavy and headachy.... maybe the weather!!!!A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9
