Hello x
Im a bit angsty today so did some mindful baking a pineapple, cherry and coconut loaf cake to take away with us - a bit of a treat but agree with you @tighteningthebelt - we all need a treat at some time. The boys were aghast that they were precluded from the cake!
Anyway not much to say today xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
@CRANKY40 if you have lost volume you're probably converting fat for muscle so don't discount your efforts, the body has cycles, so I would say well done to you.
I'm just surviving yesterday and today, no real exercise and trying to eat healthily and then I'll get back on my horse - its just too hot to go running. But am considering bike ride.
Umm bought more rye bread yesterday, can't wait to have a piece w some nice cheddar for lunch.
Dinner will be left over cous cous salad from yesterday.

STS for me this week, but I'm reasonably happy about that as I had pizza, chips and cake when I saw my DS for his birthday on Tuesday, so it could have been worse. Also bought some chocolate mini rolls and had 4 of those on Wednesday, luckily I left the other 6 with DS and DIL. It was amazing to see my DS after so long, and had a nice long hug with him.SueWeight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Good Morning All,
Feeling a bit more upbeat today. Picked up my DS and took him over to DDs who's just come back from a week away with partner's family and DGD and made dinner for them so they didn't have to cook when they got home. Seeing my family always brings out the love. My food intake went to plan yesterday and I'm finding the nightly golden syrup porridge a really good substitute for my chocolate. I have a really busy day today making sure everything is how it should be in the house as this is my last day here.
Meal Plan:
B- porridge and bits
S - melon
L- greens, tofu, and left over cauliflower biryani
S - Last of the melon
D - greens, black beans tofu, new pots and naan
P - GS porridge
Its certainly cooler out this morning

Good morning, everyone
I’ve been in a bit of a funny mood lately (funny peculiar not funny ha-ha) so haven’t posted for a few days. No idea why the odd feeling, and not going to try to find why.
Congratulations to All Losers! Well done! 👏
Good work STSers, especially if you’re exercising - don’t forget muscle is heavier than fat (as ditty said to CRANKY). 👍
Commiserations to Gainers - it’s tough when one’s trying one’s best. 😢
Hugs to Everyone having a tough time whether with health, personal, or work life. Wishing you all all of the strength, courage and energy you need to get through. My experience is that there’s often a “little something” that causes the trouble. It seems to be my little single squares of 85% chocolate that make the weight stick. So for the last two days I didn’t have any, and stayed off the coffee too because for me the two are connected. It helped that it was so hot that water was a better option than coffee. So, weighing in with -2lbs. A loss at last. Can I keep it up? (Cheeky/sneaky choc ices don’t help, either!)Yesterday I ate: B sausages & eggs; L strawberries with yogurt; D ham & turkey salad, raspberries & cream.
Today’s plan:B : porridge with hg berries (only a few)
D : grilled rump steak with tomato, courgette and carrot; strawberries & cream
T : ham salad; raspberries & yogurt
Wishing you all a Happy Sunday, and a good week ahead.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Hi everyone 🙂
2lb loss for me please Brambling.
Todays food pretty much the same as yesterday as we set some aside, but I'll add a pud of banana and yogurt.
Seems unfair about single squares of choc bluedoggy, but at least you have identified the culprit.
Glad you're feeling a bit happier NN
Enjoy your break Molly41
Hope everybody has a good day today 🌻🌼A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks11 -
Thanks all,
I'd have to be very athletic for muscle to have an impact on my overall weight. I promise you that I'm not. Muscle is denser than fat so takes up less space but trying to build up muscle while you're on reduced calories is hard (think of all the supplements that body builders use). I could try and increase my overall protein intake I suppose.
I have an idea. I was running it over in me head last night. Rather than make it into what looks like an excuse for not losing weight (which entertains others in this forum no end apparently) I'm going to try it for a week first and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
Well done to everyone here. Lose, gain, STS....it's still hard.
Take care all of you10 -
@CRANKY40 - delurking to say that you may also find that as you lose weight your bone density increases. Something to do with growth hormone levels. Sadly I forget the details, but I remember it coming up in my research when I was looking into the low carb stuff. It's well worth doing some digging into how hormones are impacted by weight/fat loss. And also to focus on what people generally call 'non-scale victories' i.e. lost inches or body fat percentage. As far as protein goes, women need around 0.6g-0.8g per kg of target body weight. I have to admit that I struggle with this. And obviously your egg/bit of cheese/fish etc isn't 100% protein so you do need to use an app of some kind to calculate it - I started using fatsecret because I was struggling to get my protein/carb levels right without really understanding them.
Having said all that, I'm not doing particularly well myself due to fatigue, which makes it easier to mostly eat toast. And I really miss the yoga and pilates, but can currently only manage a couple of classes a week and I can already see the difference in muscle tone. Ironically I'm pretty sure that eating better would probably help with the fatigue, so it's a vicious cycle.9 -
Thanks @greenbee. One of my problems is that I was put into an artificial menopause from my mid 20s until I decided that I wanted a baby (roughly 34) so my bone density isn't what it should be anyway. I was warned that osteoporosis would be a side effect but at that point if they told me that I would spontaneously combust in 20 years I would still have taken whatever the consultant gave me. It's only when you're older you think "they did what?". I will certainly have a go at trying to calculate my correct protein.
My son has joint problems so we break our exercise down into small portions. Maybe that kind of approach would suit you just now instead of trying to do what you think you should be doing? It seems to be working for the House Troll anyway. So far he's on two 15 minute sessions a day and I've had no extra complaints about pain. There have been fewer mentions of how shattered/exhausted he is overall but the word "mean" was used the first couple of days10 -
Hi
Well done losers and sts, commiserations on gains.
Agree dieting is hard Cranky, it is taking much more effort than when I was younger and I’m having to do things differently now.
I was too lazy to post yesterday. Was yoghurt and berries for breakfast, a Starbucks mid morning and lunch out at an Indian restaurant which included potato and chickpea flour so went above my daily carb numbers. Was delicious though. Dinner was a small salad with squid and prawns followed by milk chocolate.
Today’s menu
Brunch: dippy eggs with crispy streaky bacon soldiers; coffee with cream x 4 😬
Sunday lunch: roast chicken, cheese topped cauliflower and buttered carrots. Choc coconut chia pudding topped with sliced strawberries.
Supper: slices of cucumber topped with cream cheese and roasted peppers from a jar. Raspberries with cream.
Laters: milk chocolate.
Take care all
