Tomorrow and Friday are going to be my second trial fast... I have to put it here in black and white for commitment purposes!!

Day 8
WI - loss of 1 lb (not bad with a daily average of 1732 calories)
Exercise:
will be out walking for an hour this afternoon
Food:
calories - 1700+ (already at 1451 and haven't planned supper yet)
fruit & veg - =? portions (so far included avocado, banana, pineapple, almonds)
I think talking about losing weight and how one is succeeding or not can be unsettling for friends who are running away from the need to do the same themselves. So it's good to be able to come here and know we have all acknowledged that we should be doing something about it.

Hello x
Not been on for a day or two and 18 posts to read through x
I have been cycling away in the middle of the night and sometimes during the day! I am managing 30 min chunks and am listening to some Jilly Cooper - takes me back. I am quite enjoying it and try and beat my last recording!
Ive had to lay off the raspberries and strawberries as they have had (ahem) some side effects which added to my bile salt absorption diarrhoea has made life a BIT uncomfortable. Still a day off will make me appreciate them more tomorrow!
Im not weighing in this week as Im not brilliant mental health wise so will leave it till next week or when I feel stronger. Ive got my appointment on Monday and hopefully start counselling soon so that will make a difference x
Love and hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.11 -
Afternoon All,
nananibbles Well done for the stern word with yourself and for telling your daughter to use stuff up before buying more food. I hope the leftovers go well.
ouraggie I live in Southend. It's not prettiest of coastlines/towns but I still prefer it to not living by the sea. Well done on all of yesterday's walking and stair climbing
LittleVoice Well done for the loss and the pre-lockdown sized dress. I love Debenhams, when they went into administration a few of my friends were shocked that I hadn't kept them afloat all by myself
ditty Best of luck for today, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Blue Doggy Not factoring chocolate in, and therefore really having to think about whether you want it, makes sense. Hopefully you'll get the taste for herbal teas back to make it easier. Good call on getting the gardening out of the way and I'm sure the wine was well deserved after your effort.
monnagran I like your exercise regime, I think I might sometimes even manage both at onceI hope all went okay with the blood test and best of luck with not feeling like you need to play catch up after yesterday's short rations.
TTB Well done, a mini magnum is a much smaller deviation than I normally manage. I hope all goes well with the fast tomorrow
Molly Well done for keeping up with the cycling and Jilly Cooper takes me back a bit too. I tend to love all kinds of girly trash books but they were the first ones I read and I think that I'll always have a soft spot for them.
I'm not sure why but I woke up stupidly early this morning. On the plus side, I had a batch of biscuits made and cooling by just gone 8 so it wasn't a rush to get them done later to send to my mother-in-law in time for her birthday. I may have had to try one (or two) for quality control before packing them up for herOther than them all I've had so far is some toast and dinner's to be decided. It'll be something quick and simple though as we've got a virtual pub quiz with friends this evening.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx11 -
Hi can I please join in?
I am starting a degree in mental health nursing at the end of September and I want to drop 21lbs so that I look and feel healthier in myself.
The thought of fitting in to my student nurse uniform as I am now kills me!
I am not sure if I am being overly ambitious but I am willing to give it a go!12 -
Welcome sonyarita - know the feeling of fitting into a uniform as Im a medically retired midwife xWe are a very friendly bunch and very supportive xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin11 -
Welcome sonyarita
one of my sisters used to be a MH nurse, she loved it but it was hard work
Well done on the 1lb loss Littlevoice, I'm also reporting in with a -1lb lost this week
Ditty I hope the citizenship test went well, I had a quick look and I've a feeling that most of it would probably struggle with some of the questions or fail
Molly i hope your're tummy is feeling better todayand you're not too sore from the cycling. I haven't read Jilly Cooper in years (probably decades) I remember it was considered pretty shocking in it's day like Jackie Collins
Probably not so much these days
I've had real problems sleeping this week it was 4am on Monday night when I last looked at the clock and I hadn't been to sleep. surprisingly I didn't feel too bad yesterday but it was 1am last night and I'm feeling tired and irritable today, i've been biting my tongue as I'm not tolerating idiots very well today and I've spent much of the day on a 'Team Meeting' testing with multiple users. Hopefully I'll sleep tonight otherwise tomorrow I had better stay on mute or risk saying something best not said, not necessarily wrong but it wouldn't be good
B - Banana
L - Quorn steak in a wrap with raw spinach followed by a bowl of fresh pineapple, melon and mango
D - Rump steak with new potatoes and ratatouille (minus the aubergine but using up a couple of courgettes) and some french beans from the garden
S - two chocolate biscuits
