Hi Everybody this morning is a bit of a slow one so far. But managed a late breakfast - porridge with fruit and will have lunch later. I want to go for a run, so might go in a bit before lunch, I am just slightly stalled as I will be able to apply for my uk citizen ship in the next few days, so am fretting over money and just life in general. Still staying on top of weight but slightly not the primary focus this week.

Afternoon All,
LittleVoice I hope you enjoyed the BBQ and good luck with tomorrow's weigh in
ouraggie Well done on the loss. It's hard when you're away from your normal home to eat sensibly, especially if someone expects you to join them in holiday treats. I live by the sea and have definitely found that I eat more rubbish when people visit as they all want fish and chips and ice cream on the seafront.
Gingerlily Hopefully your OH won't be so remiss as to let you forget chocolate again
Molly Well done for using your bike, especially in the middle of the night.
Chloris Welcome to the gang and best of luck, I think lockdown has made it hard for a lot of people.
nananibbles Well done on the loss and I can understand why you were annoyed. I hate wasting food but when my husband shoves something to the back of the fridge and forgets about it I can't use it up/mindlessly shove it in my mouth as it tends to be meat.
Brambling If my mum had done that to her sister I think she'd still be paying for it now
Blue Doggy Well done on the green tick for yesterday and 3 squares of chocolate is a completely acceptable deviation. Would you find it better to add it to your meal plan as it's then part of your big green tick even if you have it and an extra bonus if you don't or would it make you more likely to eat it?
monnagran I'll put my Mr Tickle arms on and give you a socially-distanced pat on the back. It may not be the most sensible option but I'd vote for staying in bed
TTB I didn't know about the fat/carb ratio but I guess it makes sense that it's something we're programmed to seek out. I hope you enjoy trying out your new recipes.
ditty Well done for staying on top of it even though there's a lot of fretting about other stuff going on. A few years back a friend was applying for citizenship so some of us did a mock test online and she was the only one who passed
I don't know if it's because I worked on Sunday, the fact that there's not really much to distinguish one day from another at the moment or a combination of the two but I'm rather discombobulated this week. I've probably eaten more biscuits than I should but meals haven't been too bad and have involved a decent amount of veg.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx13 -
Whoa - a whole 19 calories used up according to my phone today, a slight deviation from my minimum 500 that I've set myself, best get those trainers on tomorrow. Goodness it does show how little energy I use when Im sat down at work all day.
I had a near major blow out today almost self sabotaging my loss, not that it would take much to self sabotage 1/2 lbThe business I work for is run from the home of a friend of mine who happens to be a cordon bleu chef so there is always food hanging around to tempt me. I typically go prepared with my own food but I find that a) - when I'm sat down all day scoffing her food is a distraction from the computer and b) - she is a feeder! I don't know if I'm hormonal, bored or emotionally eating but I made my (large) bowl of porridge, and bits when I got there but didn't feel full and felt the urge to keep eating. Luckily my boss has been away so there were no major temptations but I still managed to follow that with 2 bowls of large Saltana bran flakes and a kind bar. I don't know how I managed it but I had a stern word with myself, reminded myself I'd feel like I was letting the team down (that's you guys) and I actually stopped at that, forwent my lunch and had a small portion of black bean casserole, rice and wok fried greens for dinner (didn't give up my chocolate though). I have to say I'm thankful to you guys as this could have turned into a full blown binge for me, so give yourselves a big pat on the back from me

Hi all and welcome to Chloris.
Isadora, it must be lovely to live by the sea permanently. Are you in the UK?
I feel fairly virtuous today as I trudged to work and back on foot. Probably did a couple more miles round the building too. Had to go up to HR on the third floor twice. Used the stairs both times. Felt a bit like attempting Everest base camp the second time but i made it!
Today's menu:
BR - Weetabix and Cheerios, ginger nut ( to stave off hunger pangs whilst getting ready)
LU - sandwich thins with ham and tomato, biscuit bar
Snack - crisps, biscuit bar ( couldn't resist)
DI - chicken, tomato and butter bean stew with couscous ; meringue with cherries, apple and Greek yogurt
Heavy rain forecast for tomorrow here, so may have to drive to work 😬.

Day 7
Exercise:
almost two hours of walking (some uphill on the way back, though of course it was downhill on the way out!)
Food:
calories - 1700
fruit & veg - =6 portions (including cauliflower, tomato, cherries, rocket, banana)
My walking led me to Debenhams and I was so excited to find they had at last re-opened my local branch that I celebrated by buying a dress in the same size as I was wearing before lockdown. I couldn't try it on there, of course, but when I got home it was fine so it looks promising for tomorrow's WI and perhaps the lockdown 7 lb gain was spread around well enough.

Hi just checking back in lunch was a lush rye sandwich with avocado, cheese and 4 small slices of chorizo and dinner was a lovely sweet potato red curry. Exercise was a short run. So a day of no snacking, but quite big and yummy meals.

Good morning all,
Another none exercise start to my day as it raining heavily here and doesn't look like its going to ease up any time soon, I'm glad I slept in this morning. Not a gardening day, cooking and cleaning instead.
Good luck with your citizenship application ditty1234. Life has a way of clearing our path so try not to worry too much.
Discombobulated is such a great word Izadora I'm going to try and fit it into a conversation today.
Ouraggie - I love a good long walk particularly if there is a hill involved, it really does get your heart pumping and sets you up for the day
Fingers crossed for your weigh in today Littlevoice
Meal Plan - a day of left overs
B- porridge and bits
s- melon (if its not over ripe as the remains have been sat in the fridge for some time)
L - Left over butternut squash carrot and ginger soup with wok fried veg- again if its ok as I made it over a week ago. It smells ok though
S - dried apricots (needs eating up) and Brazil nut
D - Hoisin noodle stir fry with Tofu and left over veg.
I told DD I wouldn't be buying anymore food until we had used up the left overs and whatever is in the freezer .
Hope the rain lifts for us all today

Good morning, everyone
Izadora I don’t really like to plan chocolate in, because my weight is really very sensitive to it. I’m supposed to drink herbal tea after meals, not coffee, but I’ve gone off my favourite herbal teas at the moment. The Rule is, with herbal tea, no chocolate or sweet accompaniment; with coffee, one square of chocolate only. So am in a pickle, and have to keep the choc illicit and therefore be conscious that I’m sabotaging myself.
Everyone is doing very well with exercise and self-restraint, keep up the good work, people.
Because of the weather forecast, I gardened hard yesterday and then was too tired to eat in the evening until I’d had a couple of glasses of wine to kickstart me. If I don’t eat a proper meal, I end up raiding the kitchen for unsuitable things to eat.
Yesterday’s meal plan: B, L & D ✅ but 3 glasses red wine, 3 squares of chocolate, and a bowl of oatmeal with milk and chopped dates for supper ❌Today’s plan
B : 2 x oatmeal with chopped dates and milk ❌ off piste already, it should have been grapefruit
L : omelette with salad or veg (was planned to have cheese in the omelette, but better not now)
D : baked red pepper stuffed with something or other and couscous I thinkS : none planned

Morning Losers.
Our new members seem to have settled into the general chaos of this place.
Nananibbles you slay me, you really do. The thought of a good stiff walk up a hill setting you up for the day had me rolling in the aisles. In my book that would be an excellent way of ensuring that my day could not get any worse. My exercise routine is very much of the 'up-down, up-down. Now the other eyelid' genre.
I had a good day eatingwise yesterday. Mostly because I was out all the morning waiting for and receiving a blood test. Not much opportunity for stuffing your face in the waiting room of the Pathology department. Particularly while wearing a mask.
Trekking hospital corridors must have worn me out because after lunch - leek and potato soup, a cheese scone and a choc ice, very nutritional - I dozed on and off all the afternoon. Then had several long telephone chats with friends before I tipped myself into bed and slept like a baby (well, some babies) all night.
So not a lot of eating was done.
Must try not to compensate for that today.
Happy day everyone, and dig deep for that self restraint.I believe that friends are quiet angels
