Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 3

Hello! I have been reading along and think it's about time I committed to weight loss and started tracking, as "I'm really cross with myself and will do something about it tomorrow" isn't working. I don't go to any clubs, so will you guys have me? I've put on a stone and half during lockdown due to comfort/boredom eating, being less active in the day and missing swimming and yoga. I'm outside my happy zone and have had to buy bigger clothes 😕 So I've signed up to myfitness pal again to start tracking and oh my goodness, I now have an idea how much my portion size has crept up and how much all those slices of toast are costing me. I'm aiming to lose 14lbs which is a big ask, but I'm going to aim for it even if I fall short.14

Evening all, running late tonight so I'll have to be quick. Well done losers, newcomers and those that have stayed on the wagon or, like me, clinging on for dear life. WI for me tomorrow, if I've stayed the same I'll be happy.
One day I will stay on plan. I did really well up until I got back to DDs at around 5pm. Early morning run (though not as far as I would have liked), followed by my usual porridge breakfast. Had some fruit salad to see me through to lunch which ended up hummus and salad sarnie. Dried date and a Brazil nut for snack. Two boiled sweets on the journey back to DDs. I was grumpy and hangry within 2 minutes of me walking in. Little things that hadn't been done whilst I was away made me reach for the fridge which had lots of uneaten food that needed throwing away. It's such a bugbear of mine, so I immediately stuffed two Yorkshire puds down my mouth that had been sat there for a week, some grated cheese (which I don't even eat) and olives that were really past there best. I managed to stop myself there and reined it in before I lost control. Luckily I had prepped some veg and rice for a stir fry earlier in the day so quickly cooked that up and had an early dinner at 5.30. I had 2 small chunks of Tony's rather delicious milk chocolate, the remainder of the bar is calling my name about 2 feet away but I shall resist.
My day is done zzz

welcome Chloris 👋 it sounds like you have a case of lockdown belly 😁
Molly don't get saddle sore 😁
Generic wise there's no mistaking I'm related to my mums family the same as my brother and one of my sisters, another two sisters are very much from dad's side and the other two a mix. My sister took me aged 3 to register her wedding and it seems when asked if this was mummy I said yes and then insisted in calling her mummy, when my sister denied it (there's 17 years between us) the guy patted her on the arm and said 'now dear there's no need to be ashamed we are in the 60s after all and she's obviously yours' 😁 I don't remember but she does 🙄 unfortunately we all inherited the fat gene from my maternal side, my dad was short but stocky from manual work and was buried in the same size suit as he was married in 🙂
B - berries and yogurt
L - lentil and vegetable bake with salad, beetroot and gherkins
D - salmon fishcake, runner beans and broccoli
S - more than I should 🥺🤐
I'm off to try a cardboard diet a la Monna

hello x
Well i just did 30 mins on my recumbent bike - legs much better this time - think I overdid it last time! I know its the middle of the night but my night time meds don't see me through the night and I have a period of nighttime wakefulness/ Mania? about this time so might as well make use of it instead of spending - DH turned internet shopping off at night - just to be safe!
I succumbed to a bed-time Eclair - home made- they are delicious (even though I say so myself) - I enjoy my mindful baking, I also enjoy eating the results. Well its time for diazepam and bed now! Nighty night xx
Ps Welcome Chloris we are a very friendly and supportive bunch x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.12 -
BRAMBLING WI - 1/2 LB LOSS
Well blow me down with a feather - who'd a thunk it! I was convinced it would be a gain to start with so extremely pleased with my loss for my first week.
Goodness Molly cycling in the middle of the night, well done for doing something positive in your wakeful hours. I love the sound of mindful baking. I love to cook but baking is something I tend to avoid as I always eat the end result.
I should be out on my run this morning but had such a fitful night's sleep that I'm not feeling it. I know I would feel better if I went but sometimes you just have to say nah. I will need to reduce my food intake to compensate instead. A work day for me so no chance of fitting it in later.
Menu Plan:
B - Porridge and bits
S - apple
L - hummus and salad sarnie
S - date and Brazil nut
D - Spicy black bean stew with rice, quinoa and pomegranate, possibly red cabbage slaw. Stew is made so I will definitely have it tonight.
Have a good day

Morning Losers
Welcome all the new losers and as I always say, if you don't actually lose much weight you will at least have made a lot of new friends and learned a great many excuses for eating more than you intended to.
I am trying to pat myself on the back but my arms don't go in that direction. I made cheese scones yesterday and only ate two. Such self control!
Today I am faced with a choice. Either I go into the Island's metropolis and get the blood test the doctor has ordered me to get or I stay at home and try to pack all my extraneous possessions into a smaller space in order to accommodate the stuff shortly coming out of storage. Think quarts and pint pots.
Or I may just stay in bed.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Todays plan is
L butternut soup and a banana with yogurt
D courgette bolognese again, with melon for pud.

Well, I ended up buying the fast 800 books and I've read them and selected lots of menus. We (DS being reassured that he can have carbs) start that when the asda shop comes Thursday. It is an expensive shop this time as I had to buy things for the store cupboard that i dont usually buy. I figure I can do it as and when over the next few months, and for the days I dont feel well it can either go to the 4 winds or be a compact source of high quality nutrients that I dont have to think about. Doesn't really matter if I dont start it properly til the new year. One interesting thing the book notes is all addictive foods are consistently 1:2 ratio fat to carbs, he suggests we find this very appealing as it's the same proportions as breast milk. It's hard to shake our hardwiring isn't it.
Have a good day all. 🌷A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
