Hello ladies
Its been an exhausting weekend truth be told. The chap came yesterday - basically he has done the best he can with it, he suspects there is a bigger issue to do with the structure and layout of the drains, but there is only one man hole cover and I've no idea if there is another hidden under the decking elsewhere. His advice was to ring the water company and order plans to find out if there is another and, if not, request an additional one be put in. So it is sorted for now, and I do feel much better. I keep thinking a smell sewage though, my nose is obviously very very sensitive now! Will draft a letter to the water company tomorrow (no way can I face ringing them). I await his invoice. Thank you for all the kind wishes. In and amongst this I have done five loads of washing, bought DD some new PJs, bought a pack of thank you teacher cards, decluttered the book shelf and tidied some board games up, binned a lot of random junk out of a kitchen drawer, taken the kids for a big forest walk, cooked a lasagne, made a start on new school uniform shopping for September, written a meal plan for the week based on what we have in (I have £3 in my purse and am NOT spending anything else), paid the milk bill, and generally kept on top of the house. Once we are showered and settled later I plan to put a Harry Potter on and escape to Hogwarts for a couple of hours!I hope Piggers is ok, if you're reading along I Hope DH return to work has gone ok.Dizzy - I am totally with you on bbqs. In fact I rage inwardly (and sometimes outwardly) at quite how much is "expected" to just be done as if by magic by women at such gatherings. I've found myself in knots so many times over such things, and vividly remember trying to breastfeed DS whilst running round like a headless chicken at one such gathering, and nobody even seemed to notice I was struggling. I hope you manage some rest xx
See you all on the new thread lovely people xx10 -
ASB.. I'm fine ty.. just nothing to report because I am so darn lazy! lol.
The new washing machine which claimed it had a leak has seemingly dried out and the leak has disappeared.. the pump however sounds like it has rocks in it!
Folded a pile of clean washing with the 'help' of a small cat..
OH loaded DW before he left for work. They don't open to the wildlings until tomorrow and he is off Monday and Tuesday.
I had to have a forced 3 days off with pain and now I have a cold.. I've not left the house for 11 days.. and I have a cold... there is something very wrong there.

All washing now dry, brought in and folded. Completed an online Mr M order to be delivered tomorrow - then if there is another lockdown, local or otherwise, we are ready to batten down the hatches.
Fence is up and very nice it looks too. NN was nearly trapped on this side as last panel was being slid into place - his NDN suggested he might be better on the other side. Drat. I did say that he could stay this side as he would be handy to have around. I didn't elaborate why, and luckily I am not a cartoon character with a thought bubble coming out of my headI wonder if they are putting something in the water - first the car salesman, now the NN. Shakes head in bemusement.
DS and GF have returned to pigpen land. GF has volunteered to be furloughed until September so DS is staying over there until Wednesday. Though I say it myself I'm coping very well with all this chopping and changing about - just an occasional wobble. I can no longer remember what 'normal' is anyway lol.
Just me and Sweetie here then.

Evening all
Lots of garden jobs and garage sorting done yesterday and today, OH has done a tip run, probably at least one more will be needed, the garage does still have a lot in it but at least it’s looking organised now, there are about a dozen plastic storage tubs that need to be sorted, decisions need to be made on storing this stuff when it doesn’t get used. I’m prepared to be ruthless but DH not yet on board totally. I’m just going to carry on with my stuff (there is quite a lot which is mine to be honest) and even if it’s just that that gets done it will be significantly better.
Pretty pooped now though, plan for this evening is a soak in the bath, read my book and relax a bit ready for work tomorrow.
take care all, see you on the new thread x7 -

Oh I'll catch up with you later...laptop playing up and itchy eyes.
Pegged out washing. Fetched in one item at a time and folded - WAY too blustery to fold it as I unpegged it...anyway three loads through; all the bedding has been washed, lots ironed. Lashed it down this afternoon so I don't have to water the garden (result) and DS made pancakes and had some batter left and hinted I might like to make Yorkshire Puddings (no I'm rubbish at them) anyway nipped to Lidl, bought a small gammon, carrots, cauli and we had a proper sunday lunch with cauliflower cheese and roast and mash and Yorkshire Puddings that good you'd think I was on Ilkey Moor instead of on the edge of the Peak District!
Room in the freezer (because now I have 2) meant I could take advantage of some 30% off bargains including a side of salmon for just over £9 which has cut down into 11 portions! And there's still space. I also cooked extra mash because I have the 'bottom' of a cottage pie in the freezer so that's another meal sorted. I have ironed what was dried yesterday.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear8
