I managed to sleep until 6.00, went downstairs to make a cuppa (no water upstairs!) and decided to start on my list straightaway. So far I have
- booked a slot at the tip for 13th
- separated out and replanted seedlings
- booked two online study sessions for work
- done financial check
- ordered 100 allium bulbs
- had breakfast
- carried the old Dy$0n upstairs
- made a couple of work phonecalls, and got distracted by a call from a friend
Will shower and dress once I've cleaned the bathroom!
The early rain appears to have stopped now, though it could return later, and the sun has put in a brief appearance, so - once I've cleared up the bathroom mess - I'm hoping to have a productive hour or two in the garden before lunch.8 -

Hello all. About to start second work shift but I have walked the dogs, done finances as it DHs last day in his job today and hoovered through.Spend less now, work less later.9

Good afternoon!
Paid stuff today. Before work I walked the dog & poo picked in the garden. It looked like it had rained overnight, but it is lovely and sunny now, if a little breezy. We have been playing in the garden with the sand - that will need cleaning up later! The little man is being very noisy today!! I have emptied the DW and restacked, checked bank accounts and done the Friday money juggle, checked emails and dealt with some local authority stuff. I am going to update my accounts now while the noisy wotsit chills watching Paw Patrol for half an hour (he doesn't seem to want to nap today, so some quiet time is needed!)
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!7 -
hello all
WM and DW x 1 and emptied.
Microsoft TEAMS meeting attended. Emaile dhost for clarity as I couldn't hear much of what was said...
Pegged out washing
brought washing in
about to peg it out again
little freezer installed in shed. It is standing on a lage plastic plat pot with a large rock in it (for stanbility topped with a flat basket (as a stand) and wood at the front to tilt it slightly up thus ensuring it stays closed. Little freezer filled with food, most of it HM ready meals (there's lots of squash and lentil soup) and a notebook found so all items are recorded then this will aid meal planning etc. Apart from the soup ther's nothing that will make a meal for 3...except for the steaks (one fillet, 2 venison all YS)
My bed stripped and airing; DS's bed stripped and remade.

Hello hellooo,
Was WAC this morning but so was OH, in fact he had to leave earlier than me so my first job of the day was waking him up. He did the washing up, I scooped the litter tray. Added jobs from today's list to my phone, will potter round and get them done after work9 -

Once I had tidied up the bathroom, broken/cut up all the rotten plywood and mouldy vinyl flooring, bagged them, put them out in the shed to await my tip run, swept up, switched on the dehumidifier, etc, and had my shower (downs in the ensuite!), my shoulder was aching and it was time to make soup for lunch. It has rained steadily all afternoon, and the rain shows no sign of stopping completely, so I never got out into the garden. Instead I have caught up with a few zzz and had a chat with NDN. As soon as DH and I have had a cuppa, i will take Rosie out for a damp walk, then do a bit more tidying of papers in my study.
Shock!!! Horror!!! DH says he is going to dismantle and throw out an old railway layout which is not repairable and is taking up premium space in his man cave!!!
Narc0, which websites do you use for theatre performances online?

Ionafan that must be a relief, glad you are getting it sorted. ASB I am trying to be positive too, did my exercise class this morning then put on a dress, jumper and thick tights, made an effort with my hair and put on a bit of makeup. Sick of slobbing about in my scruffy jeans. Paid stuff done, been to the post office and Li@l and took some cardboard to the recycling.
My brother is visiting family tomorrow so he is coming over for a BBQ tomorrow night, DS has been tidying the garden and getting things ready - even though the weather is about as bad as it can be for July. My brother is bringing his bike so we can go for a bike ride in the morning but he will have to ride at my pace because I am much slower than him!
Still a bit anxious and wobbly but trying not to let it overwhelm me.9 -

Sounds as if there have been some highs and lows among everyone this week, and - as usual - it has rushed by with you being spared my ramblings for a couple of days. Hugs to all struggling.
- Bedroom is evolving but improving. New unit has gobbled up the contents of the old bedside table (now in my study tidying up various cartons of bird food as I have 3 feeders outside the window, the extension plug sockets, waste bin and still has an empty drawer), 3 boxes/baskets of socks, sports bras which were crowding out my 'normal' bra drawer, normal bedside table 'stuff' like pens/tissues etc - and it still has one large and one small drawer empty. Have decided that my bookshelves, instead of cluttering up the bedroom now the new unit is there, will be well placed in my study - once I have removed/tidied 2 old pinboards.
- A lot of clothes and dish washing has been done; we have a friend in need at the moment so have done 3 loads of washing and some admin for him.
- Garden looking good after lots of much-needed rain. I rescued a wren this morning which had somehow got into the kale/broccoli cage, luckily unharmed. Still picking raspberries, gooseberries and red/white currants; 6 cucumbers ready to pick and more baby ones growing; tomatoes doing well; french and runner beans winning (just) over blackfly; broad beans have lost the blackfly battle so aim to pull them up tomorrow and put spare kale in, along with any other spare seeds I have. Lots of spinach and carrots; beetroot slow but emerging. Peas a lot of time and effort for very little this year. Dead headed a lot of poppies, gave some seed heads to flower arranging friend (whose dog I walk) and another arranger coming to collect the rest on Tuesday.
- Mr N had his Pneumovax booster and blood test this morning; asked nurse about visiting my mum/his mum/have his brother to visit - answer was yes but only if you stay outside. So that's sleeping in the garden then..........Mum and BIL will have to miss us till August. MIL's care home may have booked garden visits this month though.
- Spent a lot of time on the phone and writing a quote for a lady ringing about dyslexia coaching/support in the workplace. She sounded very nice and I could do it remotely, so that would be a bit of income if I get it.
- 'ordinary' flying has been a bit dailies and essentials only this week as apart from the gardening and decorating, there have been a few birthdays to organise cards for, lots of emails to answer or cull, running (Goodintentions not-Parkrun tomorrow?).
Have a happy weekend everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Fully paid up WAC member here. 2nd manual load in WM, preceded by another manual and the one I put on timer last night. Have pegged out already but there's sill some in the basket plus the load that's running. Have also had trouble getting online, classic IT fix worked. (Off and on again); in the meantime have been clearing stuff off the iPad as it has to go back in. Am not best pleased but it is what it is. After all it isn't actually mine!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
